I was hesitant to post this article... however... I will because I do believe it's available for anyone to see. (The local newspaper here publishes the names & addresses... & I think that's wrong.)
Anyway... click on that link & then also check out the photo links right of the story.
Thankfully no one was home at the time!!
WOW!! That should get furnaces checked before lighting them!!! Glad no one was home!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I must be technically challenged this morning. I tried clicking all over the blog but can't seem to find a link to the story.
ReplyDeletehow horribble!
ReplyDeleteI have always been afraid of gas. This story just ups my fear. I wish we were all electric. You know I did not even see this on the news and I live not far from there.
ReplyDeleteI felt it over here, it felt like something slammed the side of the trailer and rocked it poor bandit came running and jumped on my lap.. I feel bad for the guy but the article said that everyone had been smelling gas for at least three days.... all it would have taken was a simple phone call to report it and the leak could have been found and the guys house could have been saved. I know they said that there where crews working on the lines well someone could have said something to one of those guys too and they could have determined if the smell was coming from the lines they were working on or something else this just goes to show what can happen when no one steps up and says anything....
ReplyDeleteOkay now I see it and got over there. What a shame but fortunately the guy was not home. Tom has an almost irrational fear of a gas leak and thus we have the window open through the depth of winter.
ReplyDeleteI did not see it on the news either. Must not be big enough for the Cleveland or Columbus markets.
ReplyDeleteWell... I take that back... I just saw a "story tease" for the news after the game... they're going to have it on then... but that's Cleveland Fox 8. I don't know about the rest.
YOWSA!!! I had no clue you were that close to it!! Had I... I would have text or called ya!! Glad you're ok as well... Poor Bandit... I hope that won't scare him of other sounds now.
ReplyDeleteSorry Barb... it's the theme... I didn't know that the links needed a color change... I'll go work on it... Glad you were able to find it though! :)
ReplyDeleteEDIT: They're fixed now! :o)
well I didn't know what happened until I saw sunday's paper. Ya cook rd is about 2 minutes from here.. but we're all ok, as for Bandit certain sounds will always freak him out like thunder and when the trains bang real loud when there doing the hook ups... but he calmed down pretty fast sitting on my lap:)
