Just a thought...

Why is the 1st day of winter so late in December??

I truly think that someone really needs to re-think that! & It's SO close to Christmas!! I really think it needs to be about now. December 1st... how about that? Can we call it officially winter now? No... oh well. I guess it's not THAT cold then! LOL.

The question always asked of me when I said I'm cold is... "What are you going to do when winter gets here! & I just love to come back with (before official date) "FREEZE" (after) "IT IS WINTER!!"

Global warming.... MY FOOT!!! Sorry... It's been SO cold, here, the past couple weeks & it's only the beginning! Don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining.... NOT YET!!

Just as long as it is THIS cold, there better be snow on the ground!! & WOO HOO!! We got a couple inches today!!

The other night it slightly snowed after a day of rain. The blanket of white was SO sparkly that had it not been so bitter out, I probably would have had tears in my eyes!! LOL

See, this was actually my way of getting to post a blog about the lovely snow. Come March 20th (my birthday & the 1st day of Spring) there not better be a flake around!! (It's a toss up here in Ohio... but still, I can always hope!!)

Well, I'm heading to bed... got to try to get some sleep before the party (see blog about Grammy!)... So, I'm going to go warm up a little milk & grab my TimTams & do some TimTam Slams before I go to sleep!!

Don't worry... it won't keep me up! I'm way to tired... but since my mind won't stop spinning, I'll take an Ambien CR & I'll be sacked out in no time... with or without chocolate!!! :o)

Toodles everyone!! :o)

  2. Note the subtle TimTam reference? :D I'm so tickled pink you have access to them now. I know how much you love them! *hugs*

I'm so sorry hon, I forgot all about the card for your grammy ... I'll still send one (will do that tomorrow), it'll be belated, but at least she'll get it :)

And snow ... any way you can take photos? I'm obssessed with snow, but I'm yet to ever touch it. We don't get it here, you see. There's few places in Australia that do, and they're all so far away!

  4. Hey, if enough of you get hooked and buy regularly, maybe they'll see the market potential and keep them there?

  6. Right now where I live it is 17.2 degrees outside and snowing. Winter is here and I don't care about the "official" sign.

  7. Hubby would agree with you about global warming. *lol* As for the "official" start of winter, I kind of like that it's so near to Christmas. That way, Christmas is also a celebration of the start of winter.

We haven't had much snow to speak of yet. We had some flurries today, but that's about it. The most accumulation we've had was about an inch, and that's long since melted. I think folks up on the hills have had more than that, but down here in the valleys, that's all we've had. I'm kind of glad, because it means I haven't had any shovelling to do except for shovelling the side walk when we had that inch. As for no snow on your birthday, you can only hope. We usually have snow into April here.

    Enjoy your Tim Tams! :o)

  8. This "First day of..." stuff confuses me as the dates they go by ar always close to either a Solstice (when the days reach their peak length, either short or long) or an Equinox (when the days are split evenly between day & night) which, in my mind, are all mid-points in their appropriate seasons!

  11. December 21st is the longest night of the year...the days start getting longer after that. It doesn't seem so for a while, but pretty soon you start noticing hey, it's 6 o'clock and the sun hasn't set yet. ;)

We have possible snow here tomorrow. Probably won't be much, if there is any....we'll see.
