Hello? Anyone out there?
Yeah, I'm here!! See, we are back in business again! If you're like me, you really enjoy Multiply when it's working smoothly... & are frustrated when you get error messages when you go to post something. Like this past weekend.

Fear not all, contrary to some beliefs, this is NOT Y!360!! Multiply is a healthy community. Also, it is not a BETA site... meaning they're not just going to abandon it when they're board with it.

So, I am just up here asking all to have a little patience when their servers go down. (Or whatever happened.) Yeah, I know, I know, it seems that this weekend it lasted a bit longer than usual. I'm frustrated too... but I still have faith that Multiply (as a company) will have us running smoothly again.

Furthermore, I'd like to remind you all to report your problems to customer service... for if we do not tell them... They may never know there is a problem. Keep in mind though, it did happen on the weekend. & I have a feeling that when it all went down again just a bit ago, that someone hit the restart button!

Yeah, I know... If this weekend's down time was due to updates... wish they would have posted something on the Staff blog to let us know they're maybe some slight delays or problems.

One thing about this weekend though... I tried to submit message to CS & wouldn't you know... I don't think it went through... if it did, they got it about 5 times. LOL. Well, at least maybe that'll get their attention.

Ok, moving on... You all (my regular riders) know that I LOVE WINTER!! Well, as I type this, I remembered... there is one thing I do hate about winter... & that's DRY SKIN!!

I know what I'm asking for Christmas this year... a BACK SCRATCHER!! Never fails, soon as I get comfy on the couch & start to work here on $hiba, my back starts to itch something fierce. To help, I keep handy a pair of scissors... or something to reach those out of reach spots.

Nah, don't worry, I keep them sharp things closed. I use the side of them. And if I'm standing... don't stand in the door way, because I'll be there rubbing my back to relieve the itch.

What's funny is I'll get an itch while I'm out shopping & I will stop at one of them "end caps" or whatever & try to get a little relief. Not all the time... & not in a crowd.

I'm sure some of you'll say, "drink more water" or do this or do that. Well, I appreciate the suggestions... but honestly, 1. I do not like water... though I do keep plenty of liquid (being milk or hot tea or root beer) in me. & 2... if it requires any amount of effort... Then more than likely, I won't try it.

However, I did just get some new bath soap... haven't tried it yet... maybe it will help. It's supposed to be "ultra moisture". Bought at hubby's request.

While on the subject of irritations... Raise your hand, if you're like me... & you have to cut the tag out of new shirts, before you'll wear it? Yep... I've done that for years. So, I love my Hanes undershirts that are TAGLESS!! Just curious if any one else is like that. ;o)

Ok, one more gripe... & I hope this won't offend anyone... but hey, this is my blog!! :o)

This final gripe is something that's been bothering me a few days... I've heard several people, in person & here on Multiply that they don't see spending a little extra money for the holiday or family vacation... or whatever, because the economy is in a bad way.

Well, that's what is so uh... frustrating to me... If you have the ability to spend the money THEN DO IT!! Don't take the attitude that "With the economy so bad, I just can't justify paying for this... or that."

HUH? If you are saying you "can't justify it"... does that mean you could buy or do whatever... but you're choosing not to?? Again I say, HUH???

It just doesn't make sense... because... if the people who DO have the means don't spend & splurge... then the economy will stay in the toilet! Think about it...

I don't remember who said it... but I heard at the Craft Party that someone said they're family is not going to go to their usual place for Christmas this year. Because "they can't justify it." Then I read someone's blog saying pretty close to the same thing.

So, I got to thinking... if you have the way & the means... THEN DO IT!! You'll actually end up helping the economy!!!

Let me give you another example... My sister went all out for Grammy's 90th birthday party... Granted, it was not a big to do by some people imaginations... but I know that she spent a bit of money on it all.

It was worth it... because Grammy will only be 90 once! With her health issues... it's great to celebrate milestones such as that.

Now, if she took the attitude as mentioned above... she could have just had a little cake & ice cream at the farm & invited a few friends & family... but then what good does that do?

Since we're down to just his income... Hubby & I are in the same boat as a lot of folks...  we do a bit of scrimping when we can.

However, there are times when the good Lord will bless us with a little more. We save what we can, when we can... but if we WANT to do something... & we have the money to do it... We'll do it... we won't let the state of the economy stand in our way!

Yeah, it makes us think twice about certain purchases... but all in all, if we can justify it... then yeah... we'll do it! We'll only let our own bills stand in our way.

Alright... I'll stop... I just keep harping on that... I could say a lot more... but I think you all get my point.

That's my ranting for the day.

Before I go, though... let me end this on a happy note... It's sunny out today... & how do I know this... because, I'M AWAKE!! I'm not sleeping!! I've been up since 4:30a.m.... & I had 8 hours of sleep. But doesn't feel like I did, because the past few nights haven't been as restful. (Let's just hope I can stay awake all day... I have stuff to do, so, I hope I will!) I'm awake now... that's what counts, right???

Also, my back is not as bad as I feared it would be today... So, my little slip up the steps must not have been too bad!

I would ask you go love upon her as well... however... I am not sure how she will take it... So, I'm not going to mention a name... AND PLEASE DO NOT mention this name out loud, if you know who I am speaking of. AND PLEASE DO NOT take it to her!! Just leave it alone, please.

My self esteem - CONTACTS ONLY!!!

Yeppers... another CONTACT ONLY ENTRY... (half tempted to make it a no reply entry too... because I'm not looking for sympathy... or even pick me up's... I guess I'm just venting a loud.)

Let me just put it this way... My self-esteem has been shot to... pieces (to put it politely!)

Not to mention a long time friendship... (yeah... this is getting to be a recurring theme it seems like here lately on Multiply... but I think it's because we have so many friends here we want to keep you all informed.)

Now.... I am NOT going to mention names! And I am not going to say what happened. But suffice to say... I was shocked beyond all tonight about somethings... I really should have seen it coming... but I didn't... I was blind sided by this!

I knew some things were going on with this person... but I had not a clue how they felt about me. Yeah... sounds a bit selfish... but someone with a low self-esteem to begin with... AND because this is MY blog... I'm going to be.

BUT... It gets worse... I've found out this person has hurt other friends deeply too! I knew about this before I knew about stuff said about me. SO... I feel even horrible that my other friends are going through a rough time because of just one person.

I don't know if this person will even read it... but if so... I just have to say, "I'm praying for you... and had you just said something to me... I could have corrected my end of the problem at least! ... or at least tried to!"

So, anyway... I don't want to assume anything anymore... so, let me say... if you have a beef with ME... please take it up with me! It may hurt at 1st... but I'll get over it! And 9 times out of 10 I don't realize it's wrong... or if it's bothersome to you. I don't know how many times I have to say it... but I am a "people pleaser"... meaning I don't like to irritate people with my habits. Please tell me... because I try to adjust to everyone whenever possible AND when I can't... or slip up... I'll apologize... AND if it's something I have a reason for doing... I'll let you know. AND maybe you'll have a better way for me...

Do you see now? I don't like to anger anyone... so please... talk to me about it!!

On another subject...

It came to my attention the past couple weeks that you all may have gotten the idea (MY FAULT COMPLETELY) that I was terribly sick... I am truly sorry... I tried to explain it... that it was just a head cold and I had no fever... it just really knocked me for a loop. But I think I had the final knock out with it... because today (well, yesterday... Sunday) I started feeling much better!

So... I am so sorry to have worried you. I tend to over do it some times. I do truly appreciate all the concern. Trust me... I will let you know if there would be any concern. I just felt it was necessary to let you all know why I wasn't around much.

And so you know... if it was bad enough, yes... I would have seen a doctor... (if I could wake up for the appointment!! LOL) Sorry... I have to laugh at myself because this is so funny to me that I could not have gone to the doctor at all while I was sick... because I was sleeping the whole time they were open!!

Well, I guess if I was bad enough, I would have made it some how!!! TRUST ME.... I would have gone!!

OH... by the way... if you get one of them head colds this winter... I suggest TheraFlu... NIGHT TIME... SEVERE COLD!! That knocked it out of not just me... but also my hubby AND also my dad... (and he's in California!) So... I know it's going around!! I sure hope you all can stay away from it!!

Just MY opinion & feelings about the upcoming election...

Disclaimer: I am not going to open this for comment, only because I don't want to start a debate here.

With that said, I have been sitting on the sidelines here skimming through other blogs & listening to my hubby's opinions & fact findings. I have kept my mouth shut; bit my tongue & sat on my hands... for most part that is. The one time I did voice my opinion... I almost lost a friend or two, because I was being pushy about it. (Which I did not intend to be!!)

Anyway... I have been meaning to post a blog about how I feel & what my opinions are. However, I had been leery about it, because I didn't want to start a political war here on my blog. Nor do I want to loose any friends over it.

So, I finally had the bright idea I'll do it & post it so no comments / replies can be left.

Another reason is because my opinions are based on what I've researched on my own or... I've trusted the source & I've just filed it in the memory bank.

So, I urge you, that if you have ANY questions about either candidate, to go to THE OFFICIAL PAGES of the candidates... Do not rely on media. Do not rely on emails that have been forwarded all over. Do not rely on Snopes. Rely on YOUR OWN intelligence!!

Read what the candidates say about THEMSELVES! Do not read what they say about their opponent... for they are not giving you all the facts... or they have a spin on it to make you agree with them.

McCain - Palin that link should take you right to the Issues page.

As this link should also for the other party... Obam - Biden.

My 1st thought when I visit each of their "issue" pages is one huge difference... something that really really bugs me... & that is Obama's issues page has a small blurb about his view... & then what they say is McCain's stand.

But NOT on McCain's page... It just states what HIS own ideas; views & opinions! And the more I think about it... the more I think about how people are saying that McCain said he'd run a clean campaign... & Obama is complaining he isn't.

Well... all those ads that do NOT have McCain speaking... I ignore... even if it says at the end "I'm ... & I approve this message." ... because, that can be spliced in so easily anymore. So, I still think McCain is running a clean campaign... for the most part!

It's no secret that I vote Republican. (I will admit, I have voted for 1 or 2 Democrats in my time... but always been local stuff.) It's also not hidden fact that I am not a "political" person... HOWEVER... this election, I'm going to now get a little vocal... I'm going to rant a little... only because I feel if I do not have my say, I will have this awful feeling, what if... "What if I had did a blog with my views? Could I have helped anyone decide?" (Ok, it's a big lofty thought... but it won't hurt... so why not!!) ;)

On with it you say... well, ok...

1st... My biggest issue I have is with the "extra" parties running for President. Sorry, it's more of a concern for the fact that people who vote for one of these "independent" candidates is just going to hamper the others. If you vote for someone like Ralph Nader... it's like voting for no one. So, why bother voting... because it's your right to voice your opinion. I have always wondered why they don't include a 3rd party on the ballots in the debates & the media stories.

So why not include them in on the debates, for those who don't like or are torn between the Democrat or Republican candidates. It's just never made sense to me. I know... I know... it's giving us a choice. But the only thing is all it does is muddy the water.

Let me say this... if out of 100 votes, 49 went Democrat & 49 went Republican... & 2 went with another party... what are they to do? How are they going to decide who will get the Electoral votes? (Which that is something I don't understand... & I don't care... for the fact, let those who need to understand it care about it.) & I know... I know... it's not going to be that close... but it's probably going to be close enough that they may have to do a recount. And the only reason it will be close is because of the other parties that are going to get a few votes here & there.

Basically... I feel if they're going to allow other parties on the ticket, then they need to include them in the debates AND in the media should talk about them as well. I mean... when's the last time you heard where Cynthia McKinney & Rosa A. Clemente stand on this issues?

Yes, they are actual candidates on the OFFICIAL ballot! Have you even heard them ladies? I hadn't... but that doesn't mean that they are not known somewhere. Why even bother putting them on the ballot... What is the point?

If McCain had gone with Mit Romney... this would have been my first presidential election that I wouldn't have voted in. For the fact, I would not have liked either choice. & I wouldn't have wanted to make my vote for someone else not really count.

I was hoping it would be Huckabee, for I thought that he would be a great "off set" to McCain. However, the more I've heard & read about Sarah Palin... I feel this is the best pick.

I like the views of Palin... it helps that she's extremely familiar with guns. In the way that she knows that it is people who kill people, not guns. You've never heard of a gun loading it's self & shooting someone. So, the lawsuits against gun manufacturers... I think it outrageous. (Ok, that's a totally different rant for another day.) My point is, that Palin has that well rounded; well educated way about her.

She reminds me of myself... in the fact that she "a little bit country & a little bit rock & roll". You can tell that she's not "stuffy" like Hillary Clinton.

McCain and Palin are THE CHANGE WE NEED!!!

The fact she's new to the scene does not mean she's NOT qualified! Who is? None of the candidates have held the office of President or Vice President!! I think this is a great stepping stone for Palin.

As for McCain, I think he's also a great choice because he knows what AMERICA is all about! He has fought for our country AND he's even been a P.O.W!! That right there should be enough for anyone to see that McCain is willing to FIGHT for our country!!

Ok, here's where the part that might upset some of you... & the other reason why I am not going to allow comments or replies. My thought is that you'll see it like this... that's her opinion... good for her for voicing it. I don't agree... but good for LH.

I am afraid, that if elected, Obama is going to split this country so much that we will have another civil war. I'm afraid that he will abuse his power as President and will end up starting WW3. (No, I don't have anything to back that up with... this is just the awful feeling I've had all year.... Just a feeling, that's all... I wish I could back this up... but I can't.)

There is more I could say... but again, I can't back any of it up. So, it would all just be hear say. And that's not what I want to do with this blog.

I just can not see John McCain, one who was declined early release as a P.O.W. abusing his rank. I mean, come on... that in its self takes courage, not to mention class & decency!! He had the ability to see his release was just a stunt by his captors, that he refused & insisted that those that had been their longer than him be released first. To me, that alone should make this a landslide election.

The other thing that you should remember while you're voting is... Do you really want a President who refused to put their hand over their heart during the Pledge of Allegiance & / or the National Anthem? Seriously, think about it.

Ok... ok... I've ranted & rambled on long enough... now... go do some research of your own... make sure the pages are official... if you see (or hear) something that doesn't seem like your candidate... then go to the official page & find out... then....

GO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!!!

We have the honor & the privileged of doing so... our military had fought for your right... so MAKE THEM PROUD and...

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD BY VOTING!!!!!

LAST COMIC STANDING

Tonight we watched last week's show of Last Comic Standing. (Just have to love DVR!) because tomorrow is the finale...
Well, I just looked to be sure it was set to record... I see that our local is not going to air it until 3:05 on Friday MORNING!! Why? Because they're showing the PRESEASON football game of Cleveland vs. NY Jets. ... Ok, I know it's a Cleveland station... but come on... this is a Season Finale of one of a better shows on tv right now. (Right now, being the summer season!!)

SO... with that said... let me give you who hubby & I feel should be... THE LAST COMIC STANDING...

Out of Marcus; Jim Tavare; Louis Ramey; Jeff Dye & Iliza Shelsinger... we say LOUIS RAMEY should be the LAST COMIC STANDING!!

His was absolutely hilarious!!! He did a bit about the 2 Amish boys were arrested for selling drugs... & he said "True story. Amish kids... drugs... You know what's next... gangs?" ... That in it's self is funny... but he continues with... "Yes, I said it... Amish gangs... They got that black suit... & just tilt the hat to the side a little bit... 'Yeah, what's up?!... Amish for life!' " & his facial expressions on top of it, had me laughing so hard I was about to have a asthma attack (remember... I said when my mom; sisters & I laugh hard... we start coughing... like an asthma attack!!) ... Ok... I wasn't going to post the video... but there was more to his set that I just can't do it justice... You'll have to see it for yourself! Before you CLICK the video... make sure you have an inhaler, if you're prone to asthma attacks!! LOL!!

Anyway, Louis Ramey had the best set of all 5 of them... to hubby & I it is a clear choice!! We also think Marcus (only goes by the one name!) & Iliza (don't ask me to type her last name again!) would be tied for 2nd.

Then there is Jim Tavare... he's from the UK & has a big old Bass Chello as part of his act! For me he was my top pick along with Iliza... Until Louis Ramey came out & floored us!

The Tonight Show without Johnny is bad enough... but now without Jay Leno, it's going to be worse!! (May 29, 2009 is Leno's last night on the Tonight Show... per Yahoo News.)

Even more so since Conan O'Brien is taking over. Could they have picked a worse comic?? (Ok, I'm sure they could have... and any Conan fans... sorry, I don't mean to offend you!!)

I guess when I watch any late night shows... it will be David Letterman...

What ever happened to Arsenio Hall????? (I know he's still around... because he was on The Tonight Show during "the strike"!)

"Think BEFORE you Flame" (part 1)... 8-24-07 - entry #2...

I must be in the need for some chocolate... because I am about to go on a rant about a few things... I may even do more... when I can remember the other things I've been wanting to say for awhile now.

(WARNING: This is long... AND... The following is my opinion! I don't like to force it upon anyone... it's just well... right now, it's just these things got me to thinking... & I wish to share my thoughts on the subjects!! This way, I don't have to bend the ear of just one person... Also, it gives you a little more insight of what I'm really like!!)

Ok, let me start with.. 1st... when I receive an email (or a message through 360)... please don't be offended if I don't reply right away.

1. Yahoo is experiencing difficulties (which I don't mind, because I realize no site will ever be 100% free of glitches... wish everyone would remember that, before they criticize!!) & I may not have received it yet.

2. I may just be not able to get to the computer for a while, because hubby is using it... or I'm cleaning (which I should be doing now, instead of ranting to you!)... or... well, many things! Just know I will eventually reply... if it's something to reply to!!

3. I'm not one who likes to fwd emails to others just because it says so in the email... & especially if it says something like: send this or "else"... I think it should be up to the receiver if they want to fwd to their friends or not.

4. With that said, if I do fwd you something, it's because I thought it was cute, interesting or important enough to share! & Most times I'll modify the email & take out the "request" to fwd it to others & replace it with a note of my own. And I try to make it look like it's not a fwd!! Sometimes that's hard!!

Ok, does that make sense? I hope so, because I'm moving on to my next rant...

This has to deal with all the "troll talk" & other problems going on it Yahoo Answers!!

I really enjoy Yahoo Answers... but I am tired of people telling me I need to be on "troll patrol"!! Though I think it's necessary... I don't want to be a part of it... So, if you ask me... please don't be offended if I turn you down, or I just don't reply to it.

Along the same lines... I wish there IS something we can do to get the word out... TO STOP with the TROLLING... because I'm afraid these people are going to "ruin it" for the rest of us. I have this feeling Yahoo is going to shut Y/A down without notice!! I really don't want that to happen... because I enjoy it! & I use it for serious questions ... not just Nascar or Polls & Surveys!!

With ALL that said... Now you have been given a glimpse into my thought about "Think Before You Flame!!"

Now, on a totally different subject... I was reading **ER**'s blog the other day & she brought up something very interesting... Kids & cell phones. (Please click on her name & read what she has to say...) Because, my opinion on this matter will make more sense if you read her posting 1st. (You don't have to... just a suggestion!)

She really peaked my interest by giving it the title "Fred Savage didn't have one!" ... that there gets me to thinking!!! Because there is SO MUCH that kids have now a days that wasn't even thought of back in our days in school!!

It's no wonder so many kids are failing school!
I say this with a humble heart... because my son failed 2 grades... 8th grade, not sure why... 10th grade (last year) because he missed so much school from being in trouble! So, now he's going to be 18 in less than 3 weeks & is only in the 10th grade! (If you're a regular reader of my blog... you'll know what this is about! If not, please email me & I'll be happy to share with you, what's going on... or send you a link to past blogs.)

Anyway, kids are acting just like kids in saying "But everyone else... (fill in the blank.)"... & in **ER**'s blog, she mention her son is trying to get her to buy him a cell phone. & She wants to know what everyone thinks... (Her blogs are AWESOME! If you have the time... take a look at her past entries! If you enjoy my postings... you'll really enjoy hers!!!)

My opinion, it depends on the child. If you think they are responsible enough!! My son is not!!!

I know that my mom will not (nor will I!) get Mike (my son) a cell phone! (He maybe turning 18 soon... but he acts like he's turning 8 & a very immature one at that... Same goes with a driver's license!! Again, if you don't know why I mentioned my mom... please email me or read past blogs.)

To get back to my point... I feel this generation of children, have it WAY TO EASY!! They think others should do "it" (whatever) for them... or they will report the adult for mistreating them! Which in today's society... could be for the smallest thing!!

Now, don't get me wrong... I know there are some GREAT kids out there & I hope that it is them who will be leading our future! It's just I am afraid for those who think slacking of is the way to go.

What is is going to take to wake these ones up?? What are they going to do when they have to take care of themselves... & don't know how, because they didn't care enough to pay attention when someone was teaching them!! (Ok, yes, I am a bit biased on this opinion, because of how my son is... however, I see a lot of kids around & hear a lot about it on the news or here online that many are just like Mike!!)

It seems bad enough that I am worried about the future of out country... & world!! To be honest... I really wonder what God thinks of how we are treating his beautiful creations??? & It scares me to think that the world was worse than this in Noah & the Ark time!!

Which reminds me... I have something funny to share... & when I can find it again, I'll post it. (She hopes she can find it on line, so she can copy & paste... & doesn't have to type it all out herself!!!)

Yikes! I guess I really did get up on the "Soap Box"!! So, guess what ... I'm going to step down now & let someone else step up! So, if you want to voice your opinion... leave a comment and / or a link to your blog with your opinions!

(One more little rant... I really need a new computer because the "slowing down" issue while I'm typing a long blog seems to be my computer!! .... and it needs to be a laptop so that I can take it with me!! So when my creative mind gets to working... I can type it, instead of writing... because if I write fast, I can't even read it at times!! LOL!!)
