Skybus Announcement & other news...

After hearing this news earlier today... I am OH SO glad I did not get my tickets to California from Skybus. There were several times I almost did purchase from them. Who else can beat the $10 flights. (By the time I was looking they were always $50 to $75 one way.)

I just heard that this is the THIRD Airline Company to file bankruptcy... Or as the ABC Sunday News Anchor put it... "The 3rd airline casualty." With it said like that I'm not sure if that means bankruptcy or not.

Anyway, to have flown Skybus, I would have flown into Burbank, CA... which is about 180 miles away from the airport that is only 10 miles away from my dad's place... so with the gas prices going up, instead of down... well, you guessed it, he wanted me to fly to the one close to home. Which is quite understandable.

So, now I am glad he was insistent on this. Otherwise, my trip would have been cancelled.

Well... as you can tell I've been busy the past few days... getting ready for my trip & other everyday things.

Today I went to church, & it was a really good service. I usually am more pumped up with the praise & worship that we do... but it was not just that today... Our minister had a great sermon about a "Marriage Check up". I'd go into it... but right now I can't because if I want to post this anytime soon, I have to cut it short. Also, I don't have my notes right by me... & so I am being lazy! LOL :)

Anyway, I wanted to also talk about some other news from today... Some sad news... Former NRA President Charleston Heston died. He was also the actor who played Moses in the Ten Commandments. I was watching a few clips from his NRA speeches... & this was a brilliant man. He did some wonderful things in his life.

One other note, again sad... The ABC station out of Cleveland lost one of their own... Sportscaster & Voice of the Cleveland Browns Gib Shanley died today.

Another reason I can't go into anything is because hubby & I are watching the movie "I am Legend"... we're only taking a break because he had to take the doggies out. Now that he's back in... it's time to start up again.
