*sneaks into the storage shed & picks up a soapbox & climbs aboard*
Hello? Anyone out there?
Yeah, I'm here!! See, we are back in business again! If you're like me, you really enjoy Multiply when it's working smoothly... & are frustrated when you get error messages when you go to post something. Like this past weekend.
Fear not all, contrary to some beliefs, this is NOT Y!360!! Multiply is a healthy community. Also, it is not a BETA site... meaning they're not just going to abandon it when they're board with it.
So, I am just up here asking all to have a little patience when their servers go down. (Or whatever happened.) Yeah, I know, I know, it seems that this weekend it lasted a bit longer than usual. I'm frustrated too... but I still have faith that Multiply (as a company) will have us running smoothly again.
Furthermore, I'd like to remind you all to report your problems to customer service... for if we do not tell them... They may never know there is a problem. Keep in mind though, it did happen on the weekend. & I have a feeling that when it all went down again just a bit ago, that someone hit the restart button!
Yeah, I know... If this weekend's down time was due to updates... wish they would have posted something on the Staff blog to let us know they're maybe some slight delays or problems.
One thing about this weekend though... I tried to submit message to CS & wouldn't you know... I don't think it went through... if it did, they got it about 5 times. LOL. Well, at least maybe that'll get their attention.
Ok, moving on... You all (my regular riders) know that I LOVE WINTER!! Well, as I type this, I remembered... there is one thing I do hate about winter... & that's DRY SKIN!!
I know what I'm asking for Christmas this year... a BACK SCRATCHER!! Never fails, soon as I get comfy on the couch & start to work here on $hiba, my back starts to itch something fierce. To help, I keep handy a pair of scissors... or something to reach those out of reach spots.
Nah, don't worry, I keep them sharp things closed. I use the side of them. And if I'm standing... don't stand in the door way, because I'll be there rubbing my back to relieve the itch.
What's funny is I'll get an itch while I'm out shopping & I will stop at one of them "end caps" or whatever & try to get a little relief. Not all the time... & not in a crowd.
I'm sure some of you'll say, "drink more water" or do this or do that. Well, I appreciate the suggestions... but honestly, 1. I do not like water... though I do keep plenty of liquid (being milk or hot tea or root beer) in me. & 2... if it requires any amount of effort... Then more than likely, I won't try it.
However, I did just get some new bath soap... haven't tried it yet... maybe it will help. It's supposed to be "ultra moisture". Bought at hubby's request.
While on the subject of irritations... Raise your hand, if you're like me... & you have to cut the tag out of new shirts, before you'll wear it? Yep... I've done that for years. So, I love my Hanes undershirts that are TAGLESS!! Just curious if any one else is like that. ;o)
Ok, one more gripe... & I hope this won't offend anyone... but hey, this is my blog!! :o)
This final gripe is something that's been bothering me a few days... I've heard several people, in person & here on Multiply that they don't see spending a little extra money for the holiday or family vacation... or whatever, because the economy is in a bad way.
Well, that's what is so uh... frustrating to me... If you have the ability to spend the money THEN DO IT!! Don't take the attitude that "With the economy so bad, I just can't justify paying for this... or that."
HUH? If you are saying you "can't justify it"... does that mean you could buy or do whatever... but you're choosing not to?? Again I say, HUH???
It just doesn't make sense... because... if the people who DO have the means don't spend & splurge... then the economy will stay in the toilet! Think about it...
I don't remember who said it... but I heard at the Craft Party that someone said they're family is not going to go to their usual place for Christmas this year. Because "they can't justify it." Then I read someone's blog saying pretty close to the same thing.
So, I got to thinking... if you have the way & the means... THEN DO IT!! You'll actually end up helping the economy!!!
Let me give you another example... My sister went all out for Grammy's 90th birthday party... Granted, it was not a big to do by some people imaginations... but I know that she spent a bit of money on it all.
It was worth it... because Grammy will only be 90 once! With her health issues... it's great to celebrate milestones such as that.
Now, if she took the attitude as mentioned above... she could have just had a little cake & ice cream at the farm & invited a few friends & family... but then what good does that do?
Since we're down to just his income... Hubby & I are in the same boat as a lot of folks... we do a bit of scrimping when we can.
However, there are times when the good Lord will bless us with a little more. We save what we can, when we can... but if we WANT to do something... & we have the money to do it... We'll do it... we won't let the state of the economy stand in our way!
Yeah, it makes us think twice about certain purchases... but all in all, if we can justify it... then yeah... we'll do it! We'll only let our own bills stand in our way.
Alright... I'll stop... I just keep harping on that... I could say a lot more... but I think you all get my point.
That's my ranting for the day.
*steps down off the borrowed soapbox & returns it upon where she found it.* Thank you, Caghs, for lending me your Soapbox. :o)
Before I go, though... let me end this on a happy note... It's sunny out today... & how do I know this... because, I'M AWAKE!! I'm not sleeping!! I've been up since 4:30a.m.... & I had 8 hours of sleep. But doesn't feel like I did, because the past few nights haven't been as restful. (Let's just hope I can stay awake all day... I have stuff to do, so, I hope I will!) I'm awake now... that's what counts, right???
Also, my back is not as bad as I feared it would be today... So, my little slip up the steps must not have been too bad!
That does it for this trip.
Toodles!
I agree, if you can afford it spend it and help out the economy.
ReplyDeleteGlad your back isn't hurting too bad. A good old soak in the tub with some Ebsom salts would help at lot to get out the soreness too. *wink*
Love your blog.....i'm going to go see now if I can post anything without losing it!
ReplyDeleteI lost my blog from earlier this morning!
Yep! I cut tags out of shirts too! And, thank goodness for my back scratcher! LOL
Hugs!
*potters around in the shed, rummages through a few piles, picks up one soap-box after the other of those that were given, produces one triumphantly*
ReplyDeleteHere you go hon, you can keep this one if you like, it's pink :D So long as you don't take my studded-leather box, I'm happy ;)
The economy thing ... I'm going to respectfully disagree ... but then, I've always had to be a penny-pincher and I don't know any other way *grins*
Now, about the dry skin ... vitamin E cream is great, as is emu oil (not sure if you'd get that there, and what part of the emu does it come from anyway?)
ReplyDeleteI'm prone to outbreaks of psoriasis and dermatitis, and I find these two to be great :) Rub a little on in the morning, and a little at night, it does wonders :)
on the subject of the tagless tee's,next to back scratchers, their the world's greatest invention!=)
ReplyDeleteYes, but... much much better first of all to go to usersupport and ask about it - often you will find that other people are having a similar problem and that there is a solution to it. Customer Service are busy (and they're not around at weekends) and you can usually get much quicker replies about technical problems at User Support. And the less unnecessary inquiries go to CS, the less busy they will be and the easier it will be for them to handle those inquiries that really only they can sort out.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind, but I borrowed your quote about Y-360 for my blog!
ReplyDeleteI posted a note there this morning about still having problems.
ReplyDeleteI think it may be fixed now, though.
Hugs!
Hi my skin is really bad i use simple derma its fab and cut all labels out of clothes i spend what will make me and my family happy ,
ReplyDeleteMulti is great hugs

ReplyDeleteI have the perfect solution for your itchy back. Use what I use; a spaghetti/noodle holder. I'll see if I can find a picture of one for you. I have 2 that I use and keep one by my bed. It works great.
ReplyDeleteMy family is pretty even about spending; we don't spend needlessly. This year we went over budget and bought a WII. The kids will get some things from the Dollar store Santa's secret workshop and a few things in stockings, but I don't consider that holding back.
This sounds like a blog...
Each one of us has an opinion, me i will stick to my gun, yeah the economy is really in the toilet and i can't afford to spend more beyond my budget,(or rather just donate to charity if ever i have an extra money rather than holding a party knowing that the Economy is in crunch) maybe i can wait for awhile until such time the economy is stable. I guess we all came from the third Country(because the real Americans are the Indians). Oh well that's your opinion so be it and I will do mind too. Mind our own business right.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong... if you can't afford it... then by all means... yes, don't do the extra spending... This was more directed to those who have the money and can afford it.
ReplyDeletean there are a lot of those still out there. Those who could spend, and don't. This is why being a consumer driven society doesn't always work so well. When people don't consume, the economy craps out, and therefore people don't consume.
ReplyDeleteYeppers Turtle! My point exactly! :) It's a never ending fight, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYup Im hoping the glitches here are over once again!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hands are the only thing that gets really dry during the winter season. I use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion on them, and that seems to help out. However, hubby has extremely dry & itchy skin this time of year, and nothing seems to help. Still, that lotion might be worth a try. In the meantime, I hope you find a back scratcher!
ReplyDeleteAs for the economy and spending.... hubby & I haven't changed how we spend or save our money. We still buy stuff we would have bought before the economy went into the crapper, and still save about as much too. And judging by the traffic around the malls and restaurants in my area, everybody else around here seems to be doing the same thing.
Good old soapbox rant there, Lady.
ReplyDelete1. Customer Service ... I tried to inform them several times but I kept getting the same message there as for when I tried to post my blog, or comments ... "There has been an error in processing, can you please get in touch with customer service." What did they think I was trying to do? Anyways ... it's 'usersupport' for me next time. I have to admit, though, that Multiply is so much better then Y360 .. and they do make every effort to get us back up and running very quickly ... so kudos to them!
2. Tags: Yes, I remove anything that is going to be next to my skin. I get scratched very easily by tags. I use Oilatum in my bath, and I have also just started using emollient cream when I take my showers (instead of shower gel). These products leave my skin super-soft and oiled. You might want to try something like this to help with your dryness.
3. As for spending power ... I have none. I live on a strict budget and there's never much over for luxuries. But ... good luck to those that can spend ... enjoy!
4. Laughing at Qwith (Chris) ... my comments always seem to be more blog than quick acknowledgements ... LOL.
Yeah, isn't that a hoot! Says to contact them... but little does that error message know... that's what you're doing!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am the same way Sumax... as I'm sure you know.
ReplyDelete& I rather enjoy comments like this! (along with the quick ones!!!) :o)
HUGS!! :)
It's okay, at least you know that your writings are effective it's not just a blah! (nonsense)
ReplyDelete1. I agree - Multiply doesn't have anywhere near the number of glitches that Y360 does, and they are usually fixed promptly. If I can tell it's glitching, I will save my posts in Wordpad before I try to post them. That way I don't lose them entirely. I try not to complain, but those Y360 flashbacks can be scary. ;)
ReplyDelete2. I get very dry skin in the winter and my husband's is even worse. We use liquid bath soap (Oil of Olay extra moisturizing or something like that) and Oil of Olay also makes a moisturizer that is made to put on in the shower. That is nice, because you can spread it liberally across your shoulders and let the water carry it down to those itchy, hard-to-reach areas.
3. Shirt tags - don't get me started!! I can't tell you how many times I have cut a hole in a shirt trying to get those things out. I do love my Hanes tagless shirts.
4. As far as spending...every Christmas (not just this one), we take a look at the budget and determine how much we can spend on Christmas. We don't do the standard gift giving - we just say something like okay, everybody can spend $50 for Christmas this year (on themselves). Not very traditional, but with the two of us and one grown son, it works. We won't spend any more or less this year because of the economy. We will spend what we can afford.
4. It's a fairly nice day here, too - temps in the high 60's but the wind is quite strong, around 30 mph. Clear blue skies with a few wispy clouds low near the horizon. Hope your back feels better. I know what you mean - I have to be careful of mine, too. If I overdo or bend the wrong way, look out.
P.S. Lovely Christmas-y page! :)
Wow-what a response! ROFL
ReplyDeleteFor dry skin, I highly highly recommend Avon's Moisture Therapy Intensive Lotion / cream stuff. It's fantastic. My husband uses it in the winter because it doesn't smell too feminine. And if you get it from Campaign 26, it's 99 cents. And I do not sell the stuff either.
I do that too!!! (Well, I put mine in Notepad... same thing though.) :o)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I know of a Avon rep... I should send her a message. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteEVERYONE... Thanks for the advice... can't say I'll try it all... just to let you know I do appreciate it!! :o)
& I'm shocked... I didn't realize that this of all blogs would create such a big reply... I'm glad to see you all are spending when you can & being thrifty when you have to. Glad my point was not... pointless & was worthy of such a great response.
I say this, because I don't think I've had such an overwhelming response on a subject. I really am tickled, for I thought it would upset some. Tickled that you're all in agreement...
I've even been quoted in a couple of blogs by you all & I have to say, I'm truly honored! Thank you again... **HUGS** To you all!!
Dry skin? One word - Humidifier. We have one that runs all winter and I love it! Plus, you get the added bonus that you don't get shocked every time you touch a lightswitch or door knob!
ReplyDeleteTags bug me too!
I just realized....I can't count. I have two number fours. ROFL And I use Notepad, too. I think.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI meant to mention humidifiers, too. They are good not only for the skin but for the nose and sinuses. The average home can have a humidity less than that of Death Valley with the heater running on a cold winter day.
& ours is not the average home either... we have hot water heat... (boiler system). It's kind of like a radiator, but it's baseboard heat. It drys our house up worse than normal heat...
ReplyDeleteBut I honestly like it better than gas or straight electric... but not as good as the wood furnace we had growing up on the farm! That was heaven... Just love the smell of the burning wood. ... This house is too small for a wood burner stove, otherwise, I would want one of them. Even a really small one. Well, maybe the next house! (Whenever that may be!) :o)
