Catching up... (contacts only)

I have been away from everyone's blogs for so long... So, if anything interesting has happened that you'd like to share... please let me know & I'll check it out. :o)

I'm setting this to contacts only so that I don't get some people sending me to who knows where!! :o)

Also, if I ask you about something you've already blog... Please feel free to tell me to check out past blogs.

Other than that... There's only a couple of you that I'm going to check past blogs. Because I don't have the time right now to check out all of ya.

I hope that I can keep up from now on.

By the way... I look for updates using my Multiply Toolbar... I hadn't even bother looking at new posts in the past few weeks. So... that's why I am behind. Hope that all makes sense.

& I hope you're all doing well... Doing fine here... just been busy doing house work / setting up the website for hubby & sleeping! LOL :o)

At least now I have a somewhat clean kitchen. Not so cluttered now. Now if only I can get back on a decent sleep schedule!

That's all for now.

**HUGS** & Toodles!! :o)

It's a TRICK! (not of the "magical" variety!)

Hi all... I've been busy working on a website for my hubby's motorcycle club... With the help from Kitty (THANK YOU VERY MUCH, by the way!!), I was able to finally make it public!! WOO HOO!!

So, when you look at it (link above)... please let me know what you think... Not bad for my 1st full site from scratch! (Meaning using only html codes!!) (In my humble opinion.)

Anyway... I was checking my email when I saw this one from my dad... & I felt compelled to share it with everyone.

It's a trick that everyone (not just the ladies) should be aware of!!!

A Serial Killer or Rapist's TRICK

Know what money you are carrying. You will see why as you read. Be
sure every woman is aware of this M.O.  Share it with your wife and
daughters.

Know what money you are carrying...This was the first I have heard
of a scheme like this..... I wanted to pass it along.  Be safe!
Something very serious to pay attention to.

Criminals are coming up with craftier, less threatening    methods
of attack, so we have to be extra cautious.

Read on...

I live in Alexandria , VA , but I often work in Lafayette , LA,
staying with friends when I'm there. As you know from America 's Most
Wanted TV program, as well as the news media, there is a serial killer in the
Lafayette area.  I just want to let you know about an 'incident' that happened
to me a few weeks ago, and could have been deadly.

At first I didn't go to the police or anyone with it because I didn't realize how
serious this encounter was. But since I work in a jail and  I  told a few people
about it, it wasn't long before I was paraded into Internal Affairs to tell them
my story.

It was approximately 5:15 a.m. in Opelousas , La.  I had stayed with a friend
there and was on my way to work.

I stopped at the Exxon/Blimpie Pie station to get gas. I got $10 gas  and a
Diet Coke. I took into the store two $5 bills and one $1 bill (just enough to
get my stuff). As I pulled away from the store, a man approached my truck
from the back side of the store (an unlit area). He was an 'approachable-looking'
man (clean cut, clean shaven, dressed well, etc).

He walked up to my window and knocked. Since I'm very paranoid and
'always looking for the rapist or killer,' I didn't open the window.  I just asked
what he wanted. He raised a $5 bill to my window and said,

'You dropped this.'  Since I knew I had gone into the store with a certain
amount of money, I knew I didn't drop it.

When I told him it wasn't mine, he began hitting the window and door,
screaming at me to open my door, and insisting that I had dropped the
money!

At that point, I just drove away as fast as I could.

After talking to the Internal Affairs Department and describing the man
I saw, and the way he escalated from calm and polite to angry and
volatile...it was determined that I could have possibly encountered the
serial killer myself.

Up to this point, it had been unclear as to how he had gained access to
his victims, since there has been no evidence of forced entry into
victim's homes, cars, etc And the fact that he has been attacking in the
daytime, when women are less likely to have their guard up, means he
is pretty BOLD.

So think about it...what gesture is nicer than returning, money to
someone who dropped it?????

How many times would you have opened your window (or door) to get
your money and say thank you....because if the person is kind enough
to return something to you, then he can't really be a threat....can he????

Please be cautious! This might not have been the serial killer...
but anyone that gets that angry over someone not accepting money
from them can't have honorable intentions. The most important thing to
note is that his reaction was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! A total surprise!
But what might have happened if I had opened my door? I shudder to
think!

Forward this to everyone you know...maybe they can be as fortunate
as I was!

P.S. Ladies, really DO forward this to EVERYONE you know.  Even if
this man wasn't a serial killer, he looked nice, he seemed polite, he was
apparently doing an act of kindness, but HE WAS NOT A NICE PERSON!!!

Men, send it to all the women in your life. What you do today is important
because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.  Make it a good one!

Please forward to anyone you think might benefit from this story.

That's all for now. Take care, BE SAFE, & Toodles!! :)

Need your opinion... PLEASE!!!

I have an idea for a writing challenge... However, I need everyone's input on this before I finalize this idea for submission. (My challenge date, by the way, is March 19th.)

This will be a two part blog... For this one... I need to know what you think are "modern day inventions"... Ie: Cell phone; Internet; etc...

Things we use constantly now that we did not have (in abundance) back in ... let's go far back as early 80's! (My high school years!) LOL! :)

So, TV's & cars would NOT be included in this... I'm looking a little more recent.

Computers were just coming on the scene then... So, I guess I would include that as a modern day invention.

Now, the 2nd part will be a poll to pick the top so many... to use in my challenge.

However, I may not need a poll, depending on all your comments... we'll see :)

So, let's have it... what other modern day inventions can you think of? Thanks ahead of time! :)

Toodlez!! :)

Lots going on...

Well, besides sleeping mostly in the daytime, I have been dealing with (the past couple nights) with our satellite receiver locking up at the most in opportune moments. So, I have been keeping track of each time it has locked up & have had to manually reset it each time it locks up. UGH! It's been frustrating to say the least!

Thankfully, I called DISH Network & they are sending us a new receiver. It should be here tomorrow. I hope so... I really don't want it to lock up while trying to watch "LOST". Bad enough we missed 10 minutes of "24" last night!! LOL!!

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know I'm doing fine. Just still taking it easy from the computer while hubby has been home. Also, I have been a little bit of a craze lately... Jigsaw puzzles!! I will be posting more about that in a day or so.

On, another note... as mentioned in a prior blog... it's official... I will be going on "vacation" again this year to see my dad. Again, as mentioned, he's now living in Arizona... so, I'll have a new whole set of photos to share. HOWEVER... keep in mind... no well wishes for a nice vacation needed just yet. For it won't be until mid April before I go.

Just wanted to mention that all I need to do is find a good price on tickets before it's finalized... we were not quite sure if I was going until hubby got back the tax return & his vacation pay. Which he did the other day.

Oh... speaking of... we had gone over what needed paid or fixed & one big thing that was going to need to be done was the front end on my truck. Well, hubby took it to the garage he trusts & they looked at it & they found nothing wrong except the ball joints had lost their grease. (Don't know if that's unusual or not.) So, that was something he was able to do here at home.

While doing that he found that a stabilizer link was snapped in two. However, that's another thing he can fix himself... & is not near as expensive as if it had been the front end!! WHEW!! That's a HUGE relief on our "wallet"... I mean a HUGE relief!! Maybe we can put a little of that money saved into savings for emergency use!!

Anyway... that's all for the moment. **HUGS**

Did you know???

That the "stimulus" package bill that just pass & now is on it's way to have President Obama sign is a LOT OF "pork"!!

Just listen to this... & decide for your self if it was worth it! From the Repbulican Study Committee (RSC) site.

What's interesting to me is they just got the 1000 pages the night before they had to vote. RIDICULOUS!! OH... & get this... the Democrats sent a plane here to Ohio for Senator Sherrod Brown so he could be flown in JUST FOR HIS VOTE! (He was the decisive vote & was at home because his mom had died.)

(Closed for comments... just a informational blog.)

Happy Valentines Day

Just dropping by to say hi to you! **HUGS**

Two big satellites collide over Russia

This is just an interesting read... nothing to be worried about.

My only thought is... if they knew it would happen eventually, then why not take steps to keep it from happening. Maybe that's just a "layman's" thought... & would need more thought into it.

Well... don't loose any sleep over this. Nothing to worry about... At least not as far as we know!

on a break (contacts ONLY!)

Hi all... I'm ok... I've just been taking a little break from blogging... Just a little burned out I guess. & I've been trying not to be so attached to the computer while hubby is home.

He still has not found a new job yet... but I'm hopeful... but we may have to move. We'll see.

Also, I may be going to visit my dad in a month or two... using a little bit of our tax refund to go see his new home. (He's moved to just outside of Phoenix.) I want to go before it gets too hot.

Furthermore I've been sleeping a lot during the day... awake at night.

Well, have to run... hubby ran to McD's to get some supper. We had an gift card from Christmas that I finally convinced him to use. Talk to you all later.

I'm tickled BLACK & GOLD!!!

To see one of my favorite players holding the Lombardi trophy is a wonderful site!!

Can you tell I'm excited... I'll tell you what that was TOO CLOSE for my comfort!! I thought for sure I was going to have a stroke as the Card's were in the lead AND in control of the ball with the last 2 minutes of the game.

Another point of interest... Santonio Holmes is the FIRST EVER Ohio State player to become a Super Bowl MVP!! CONGRATS #10!!!

Oh & let's not forget the record setting
interception 100 yard return by James Harrison. That was spectacular!! (Longest play ever in the Super Bowl!)

And what about them commercials... My favorite was the "Fetch" by Budweiser! (Recession not seen in the prices for them. 30 seconds was $3 million!)

Had enough yet??

Now it's time for.....
NASCAR!!!!

NUMBER SIX!!!

CONGRATS TO THE
 SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!

GO STEELERS!!

But before that I am stopping at a local Bob Evan's to have coffee with one of my good friends here on Multiply & Second Life!! It's KATHA!!! WOO HOO!! I finally get to meet one of my SL family members!

I won't be staying long... because dinner will be served at 5:30p.... & I don't like to be late for dinner... LOL!!

Anyway... No worries about meeting Katha... I know what she looks like and it's at a public restaurant. And she is one of the sweetest gals I ever known. & There's a LOT more too it than I can mention here. So, I know I'll be safe!!
