btw, if anyone (not saying any of my friends would) tries to 'steal' my idea for this book... there's ONE 'secret' character who is riding along with the rest of us on this train! ;o)
After I added this character... I wondered if I should mention it... then I thought... NO... This way if I ever see anything similar, I'll know someone stole my idea.
Unfortunately there ARE people out there who are mean who are likely to steal almost anything, but, fortunately for you, your friends don't seem to be those kind of people. The only thing I'm going to steal from you is chocolate, but you let me do that anyway. ;)
Another way to protect your idea is to draw up an outline of the plot, and send it to yourself via registered post, and DO NOT OPEN IT. This way, if it's ever contested, you have proof.
