Is this Real??? - 7-21-07

Emails can be rather deceiving. I recently received one from a good friend from High School.
The title of it was:
Alligator In Kokosing River........
Being the fact I'm from Ohio & Kokosing River is only about 60 miles away, I was interested. (I knew there was no virus' or anything like that, because my friend gave me a heads up before sending me the email.)

In the email were 3 pictures. The one above & the next too. I'll put the "story" after the pictures....

Then read my comments afterward & follow the link to Yahoo Answers where I question these photos!

CAUGHT aligator deer hunter3

This picture was taken by a WBEN helicopter flying over the Kokosing River! (For those of you who are not local, Gambier is about 60 miles north of Columbus)

That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!
Are you ready to go canoing on Kokosing?
If you canoe at the West end of the river -- try not to fall.

This alligator was found between Gambier & Howard, near a house.
Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator - guess he wouldn't cooperate....

Anita and Charlie Rogers could hear the bellowing in the night.

Their neighbors had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator in the waterway that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as exaggerations.

"I didn't believe it," Charles Rogers said. Friday they realized the stories were, if anything, understated.

Knox County & Ohio Parks and Wildlife game wardens had to shoot the beast. Joe Goff, 6'5" tall, a game warden with the Ohio Parks and Wildlife Department, walks past a 23-foot, 1-inch alligator that he shot and killed in their back yard. Others have been spotted!

When I received the email, I questioned... How can that be So, I passed on to family & friends thinking it was real, because it said the pics were taking by a reputable news heloicopter.

Then the next day my sister calls me & said she had the same email from somoene else who said this beast was found in Georgia.

Then I get home & my husband find an email from 1 year ago saying it's from Florida...

So, now I know it's a hoax for us here in Ohio. My questions are, who actually took the photos AND where And is that catured alligator the true one that became a "deer hunter"

I am submmitting a question to Yahoo Answers <-- (Please Click) to see if we can find out who's the original photographer & original location it was taken at.
Any info I find out, I will edit this blog... so... stay tuned...
(To be continued....)
