Michael Clayton - starring George Clooney

Rating:★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Drama
I was very disappointed in this picture. I expected more from an Oscar nominated flick. To start with it was full of foul language, including many "f bombs", that I so despise. It was not as if they guided you into the use of the profanity... it started from almost the beginning. Also, the use of certain sexual expletives could have been withheld & would have made for a much better movie.

If it was not for George Clooney's acting AND the ending, I would have given this only 1 star. Clooney did a phenomenal job for what he was given. However, I really think anything he does is for the most part, great! His drama rolls are his best... however, I have yet to see "Leather Heads" (you know that film about the beginning of football!) :)

I do have to say that this movie started off in a way I tend to enjoy... starts at the end of the story... then back tracks & tells you how they arrived at the particular ending.

Furthermore, the music score for the next to last scene was breath taking & so fitting for it. It did capture me into the moment.

Oh, if you decide to watch this (or have already)... will you please let me know what the meaning behind the reason why Michael Clayton stopped on the hill & went to the horses standing there. I thought it was from something the character Marty had said to him about "having the horses to do something about it"...

My hubby & I even went to the director's commentary to hear why, but they never really did.

Speaking of the commentary... it was amusing... at one point there talking about the film & said something like "if they're watching for the 1st time with commentary, then they deserve to have the ending ruined." Something like that. (Since I've already returned the dvd to the rental store, I can't go back & find out the exact quote.)

Anyway, I honestly am glad I did not go to the theater to see it, or even bought the DVD for my own collection.

Feel free to debate me on my humble opinion... however, I will not recommend without the warning about the foul language in it.

By the way... this film was not based on a true story, as many (including myself) thought.
