As mentioned in a couple blogs ago, my hubby & I were playing the Hagerty Fantasy bid contest.The objective of the game was to guess what a certain car would sell for at the Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auction. Whatever the final bid (at the real auction) is at hammered would determine your score.
You would get 100 points if you hit it on the nose... 21 bonus points if you were the fastest bidder. If you were the fastest you one a 32g Ipod Touch... They gave away 29 of them. There were 4 daily prizes and other prizes for overall top scores.
Since both hubby & I were obviously out of the running for the Top 4 over all... by the end of Thursday, we were trying for the Ipod Touch.
Today it started at 2:00 p.m. & the 1st vehicle up for the fantasy bidding was a "movie car"... Something that was in a movie. I was trying to get a little housework done & then a shower... so I rushed my guess in & thought I under bid it. (Guessed $25,000.) About 5 minutes or so, while I was vacuuming, hubby hollered up to me that it ended up going for my bid.
So, I had to come back to see if I was fast enough to get an Ipod... Drats... I wasn't... but I did get 100 points. Thought, well, maybe I'll make the daily leader board... Nope, there were a lot of people that had same as me.
A few cars later after a couple others the last one comes up & it's a Roush car... & the monies was all going to charity. So, my guess was $100,000 ... & at the last moment it was pushed up to $100k & then SOLD!! Another 100 points! WOOT! Unfortunately, no Ipod.
But I did beat Hubby in score. LOL!! Below here is our points... Mine is on the left.
Well, it's 1/2 time of the Ravens / Steelers game... Even though the Steelers are in the lead 13 to 7... One of the better players, Hines Ward was hurt... and the refs already are on Hubby's badside. They're missing some obvious penalties. I have no doubt that Steelers can still pull it out though!! :o)It's about to start again... & I need to go get a couple blankets in the dryer.
