Since it's so cold I'm going to make this quick so I can get back all the way under the covers & snuggle up with my little oven. (That would be Sunny!)
1st, Dad sent me a link to a very fun & addicting game. I won't try to explain it... you'll just have to mess with it to learn how it all works. (It doesn't take much, though.) :o) Enjoy!
2nd, I had this started & we lost power for about 5 to 10 minutes... I had my computer plugged in, but I assume the battery took over. But the internet connection went down as well. Thankfully it didn't last long!! I wasn't worried about the computer or anything like that... I was more worried about the heat!
We have a kerosene heater & I did not know how to start it. So, my 1st call was to hubby... but then my cell phone wouldn't work either. It makes me think that maybe something happened to the whole city or something.
So, I tried to call Mike... but again "Connection failed." or something like that. Just then one of the neighbors pulls up & I ask if they had power. They did not either & the lights around town were out.
By the time I got bundled up & walked next door, the power was back on. Took a little bit, but I did finally get a call out. & I finally got a hold of Mike. (He had lost power too... & they also had a pipe burst. So, he & my sister's handy man is dealing with that.)
Was able to finally get a hold of my mom & she had NOT lost power. So, it was something in the city... I sure hope they're not doing "rolling black outs". If so, they should have put out some type of warning.
I also was able to finally get a hold of hubby & he talked me through how to start the kerosene heater... however the batteries that are in the back to start the ignition probably are dead. He said he's preferred I didn't try starting it, unless absolutely necessary. So, don't worry... unless the power goes out again, I will be leaving that to him. At least I know what to do if I have to use it. (I should have asked him about it yesterday & had him get it started for the 1st time this season.) I sure hope I won't have to try again... because if I do, since it's not been started yet... I will have to drag it back outside... & getting it in the computer room... well, let's just say, I'm feeling the pain now.
Don't worry all, I'll be fine... just need to relax.
Alright, moving on... I have not 1 but 2 clues for you about the mystery package. (Nope, it hasn't arrived yet. I figured tomorrow or Monday.) (See prior blogs for more info.)
Clue #4: It has a large opening. (& No it's not a hot water bottle!)
Clue #5: It's from a castle.
I believe I know what castle he's referring to. (Hint, he's in California.)
Oh, the picture above... that's Sunny & Coleman snuggled at my feet.
& This one below is just a close up of Sunny trying to hide her nose to stay warm.
WHEW! I got it posted!! (I'll check for grammar errors later.) :o)

ReplyDeleteThose are really cute pics of the doggies! It's really cold here too. Yesterday, hubby couldn't get his truck started and had to use a loaner that his company let him use to deliver his load up in Amsterdam, NY. He still couldn't get it started when he was finished delivering the load, and finally gave up on it for the time being. He's just getting ready to go out now to hopefully get it started.
