ATTN Jumpcut users

Jumpcut is closing! I should have known that a wonderful tool such as this... ran by Yahoo would eventually close.

Glad I didn't upload but a few videos. But now, I have to find a new place that will allow me to upload videos (some are near 10 minutes worth) AND make them private AND yet still allow me to share with others by just giving them the link, or embedding in my blog.

YouTube forces you to make your videos public or only visible to friends connected with you on YouTube...(Please correct me if I am wrong.) It's such a pain... because there are times I just want to share a video with friends here on Multiply... yet, I can't upload anything more than about a minute & a half. (Unless it's changed recently.)

So, if anyone else knows of any other sites that allow larger video uploads, please let me know.

Thanks.

  1. Try www.photobucket.com

They are free, you can upload 1,000 pictures and videos. Set albums private, or public, and can let friends view your stuff. Can also download to Multiply to share.

  2. I upload mine here on multiply, but I only do short ones. I really don't know of any place other than youtube.

  3. I upload mine to Multiply. I have a Photobucket account but don't use it much.
    I also use Imeem.

  4. PS you can upload up to 10 minutes if you have an ordinary Multiply account.

  5. Yep, there's your problem.

Multiply has the same upload limits as YouTube (10 mins, 100mb), but you have far more control over who sees it. If you haven't tried uploading a video to Multiply before, give it a shot. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

The only thing is that you can't embed them, but that's to protect your privacy I think.

Multiply has had a ten minute limit as long as I've been on here. If it won't allow you to upload, saying it's too big a file, then I'd say it was the size of the file. Depending on your camera settings, the file may be above the 100mb limit. (If you have high-quality videos at 640x480 and 30fps, you'll find they get quite big).

  6. P.S. I wouldn't panic. After all, Yahoo 'closed' 360 how long ago?

  7. oh... ok... I thought it was only 1.5 minutes... I'll have to try it again.

Nope, not panicking!!! I kind of expected it, so, I didn't use it much. Already had my videos saved to my computer... just need to fix where I had them posted on my blogs.

    Thank you! :)
