Busy busy...

Tonight is the 9th Annual Christmas Euchre Party. It's something that my hubby & I look forward to every year.

We need to take a snack, & of course as every year, I am making chocolate chip cookies. How can I not... everyone loves them.

I am not sure if I've shared before... but a friend even says they're better than his mom's! That I take to the bank, because I've had his mom's before... & I think they're wonderful! :o)

Hubby tries to say it's because of my Kitchen Aid mixer... I say nope... it's because I use REAL vanilla... not the imitation stuff! & What I use is "double strength"!!! So, it gives out a great flavor.

Plus I use Nestle Toll House chocolate chips & that recipe. (Adjusting tiny tads here & there.)

I swear though... I've never made a batch the same way twice! LOL.

Anyway I'll try to get some pictures and maybe even a video.

Toodles... lots to do yet! :)

Memories abound - Homecoming Celebration

Tickets... Tickets please. Time for a trip on "The Rambling Train!"

As mentioned in the previous blog, today I headed to the church in which I grew up.

I'll have some pictures in my photo albums... just of inside the church.
(This one to the left is one of the 6 stained glass windows at the church. This is my favorite of all them.) But for this blog, I have some videos of my day!

Oh... after service they passed the microphone around & we were asked to talk about ourselves & tell what our favorite memories were about PVLC (yeah, abbreviated) ... Well, the mic was handed to me & I got nervous... I rambled (as usual) & I totally forgot to mention what I remember the most. (My friends from the church are reading this... I do apologize for that, it was nerves!!)

2 things I remember the most about this little church, was the song... and the other was Pastor S. playing the violin every Christmas. Pastor S. has since retired. Unfortunately he was not there today. However, many other past members were. There is also a couple that there that just celebrated 60 years of marriage. The husband has been a member of the church the longest, 70+ years!!

Oh, I just thought of something else about Pastor S... he would always give you the firmest handshake as we walked out after the service!

It was nice to visit with everyone. There was even a group photo. Once I receive it, I'll post it, if I'm allowed! :)

Also, to my delight (& many others) the song "The Church in the Wildwood" was one of the songs we sang. To keep from crying I brought out my phone & took a video... It will be below as well! :)

Ok... let's get this started with my trip down memory lane...

This 1st one I forgot about the angle... don't tilt your head... it's just of me driving down in "the valley" while the song "God of Wonders" is on the radio!

These next few... well, you'll see!! LOL

Yep, short & sweet on a couple of these. It was crazy, because I was already late... & On my way out the road my mom comes racing down & is in a rush because she was trying to get her jeep back to the garage... because it was starting to rain & her driver side window was not working (or was broken out. I didn't take time to ask.) So, anyway, I had to back up (good thing it's a country road! LOL) & pick her up & drop her off to use one of Gina's cars. (Keep in mind Mom & Gina all live on the farm (different houses)... (the lane is a 1/2 mile long... so, they're a bit separated! LOL)

The above is my sister's niece, sort of, from Kenya, Africa. (I say sort of because her mom is actually just a friend of Gina's hubby!)

Here's the church!

This is the song that is so fitting for this church. (The Church in the Wildwood. <~~~ Lyrics.)

All & all it was a great day of memories! I hope you enjoyed this trip on the Rambling Train (& down memory lane!)

A church from the past...

I'll explain this picture later!

Right now I just wanted to do a quick note that today I am going to a church "homecoming"... It's from my church where I grew up. I hope to be able to get some pictures & maybe even a video blog about the "Church in the Wildwood" (that's a song that I think describes this church.)

Got to run... need to eat & then get ready!

Have a GREAT Sunday all! :)

Isn't it strange?? (Thanks Dad!)

This is one of them emails that make you go hmmm... My dad sent it to me... & since I can reach more of you via my blog... I thought I'd post it here.

(Can you see the pictures? Because this is the first time I'm trying to copy & paste into a blog from email that has pictures. I know I could not have done this on 360!!)

IT  IS  STRANGE  ISN'T  IT....

Isn't it strange how a 20 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to church ,
but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at church, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying but...
you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible but
how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel or ZANE GREY book?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games but
they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in Church?

Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for Church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda,
but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others;
but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say but .
we question the words in the Bible?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven but...
they don't want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away but
when we are going to send messages about God,
we think about it twice before we share it with others?

IT'S STRANGE ISN'T IT? Now that you've read this message, will you
forward it to anybody that you consider a friend, family member or foe (enemy).

If you choose not to share His message you may deprive yourself from being blessed as well as depriving others..
who may need God in their life.
