IKE .... & tomorrow is September 11... a day not to forget!!

I believe I am going to go "silent" tomorrow. Except for answering a few messages... I think I will take the time tomorrow to reflect.

If I post anything tomorrow... it will be tribute blogs like I did last year. Just as a reminder.

I'll try to find the ones from last year & link them in this blog... but later on.
Have a GREAT Wednesday... & DON'T FORGET tomorrow!!!!!

P.S. Also... HURRICANE IKE is getting stronger... and it's heading more north than they thought yesterday!! Please... Please... if you're on the coast... keep any eye on this storm!! Here's that one link again that I found the other day... from StormPulse... It's a great one... especially for tracking!

Memories abound - Homecoming Celebration

Tickets... Tickets please. Time for a trip on "The Rambling Train!"

As mentioned in the previous blog, today I headed to the church in which I grew up.

I'll have some pictures in my photo albums... just of inside the church.
(This one to the left is one of the 6 stained glass windows at the church. This is my favorite of all them.) But for this blog, I have some videos of my day!

Oh... after service they passed the microphone around & we were asked to talk about ourselves & tell what our favorite memories were about PVLC (yeah, abbreviated) ... Well, the mic was handed to me & I got nervous... I rambled (as usual) & I totally forgot to mention what I remember the most. (My friends from the church are reading this... I do apologize for that, it was nerves!!)

2 things I remember the most about this little church, was the song... and the other was Pastor S. playing the violin every Christmas. Pastor S. has since retired. Unfortunately he was not there today. However, many other past members were. There is also a couple that there that just celebrated 60 years of marriage. The husband has been a member of the church the longest, 70+ years!!

Oh, I just thought of something else about Pastor S... he would always give you the firmest handshake as we walked out after the service!

It was nice to visit with everyone. There was even a group photo. Once I receive it, I'll post it, if I'm allowed! :)

Also, to my delight (& many others) the song "The Church in the Wildwood" was one of the songs we sang. To keep from crying I brought out my phone & took a video... It will be below as well! :)

Ok... let's get this started with my trip down memory lane...

This 1st one I forgot about the angle... don't tilt your head... it's just of me driving down in "the valley" while the song "God of Wonders" is on the radio!

These next few... well, you'll see!! LOL

Yep, short & sweet on a couple of these. It was crazy, because I was already late... & On my way out the road my mom comes racing down & is in a rush because she was trying to get her jeep back to the garage... because it was starting to rain & her driver side window was not working (or was broken out. I didn't take time to ask.) So, anyway, I had to back up (good thing it's a country road! LOL) & pick her up & drop her off to use one of Gina's cars. (Keep in mind Mom & Gina all live on the farm (different houses)... (the lane is a 1/2 mile long... so, they're a bit separated! LOL)

The above is my sister's niece, sort of, from Kenya, Africa. (I say sort of because her mom is actually just a friend of Gina's hubby!)

Here's the church!

This is the song that is so fitting for this church. (The Church in the Wildwood. <~~~ Lyrics.)

All & all it was a great day of memories! I hope you enjoyed this trip on the Rambling Train (& down memory lane!)

Idea - what do you think

Yes, I am still around... I've just been hiding out on my Secret Santa site. Ok, not really hiding... just been busy with it! If you haven't seen it yet... check it out... we're having a blast there! And if you like what you see, or have any questions about it & want to participate in a gift exchange (might do 1 for New Years celebration), please send me a PM at that site.

The next one I do will only be once a week. I'll be saving the daily one for Christmas time... & my thought is to do this year round... if it catches on, that is! Again, it would be only once a week though!

For those who don't know Caghs has been holding class each Friday (USA time) & has been teaching us some pretty advanced stuff.

Which lead me to think about all those who are new to Multiply & some who are not that computer technical... I'm thinking after the holidays AND after Caghs classes... I was thinking of holding my own "class".

I acted as a substitute teacher last week when Caghs inadvertently missed class... & if you'd like to see what her classes are like, you can check out HER blogs... and then check out my "Practice Makes Perfect" blog.

So my question for you is... IF I do this... what kind of things would you like to learn?

I figure I could teach you all some of my tricks... some secrets & some easy ways to get around Multiply... AND the internet!

I did a copy & paste blog for 360... but that was not really a class, like we can have here. I mention this, because those are the types of things I'm referring to...

A BASIC COURSE!! I thought I'd ask to see if there is any interest and what some may need help with. That way I can prepare the lessons ahead of time... Like are dear friend Caghs.

Here... I'll give you a one tip...something you may or may not know.

When you are looking through your messages in your INBOX & you are just overwhelmed by all your contact's contact's contacts (etc) postings... click on the words: MINE + MY CONTACTS in the "speech bubble" at the top of the page. That will narrow it down to... the messages blogs & etc YOU and your contacts have posted. If you just want to see your posts... then just click MINE.

This helps if you are trying to find something in particular.

There is SO much I can teach!! Just let me know if you're interested and if so, what do you want to learn! Then I'll post a schedule like Caghs did for hers.

Oh, I also need to what day is best for everyone!

Now, keep in mind I do not have a job, so I can do almost any day & anytime... BEFORE 4:00p.m. (EST).

If we go ahead & do this... & you can not make the day we do, don't worry... you can check it out when class is over & practice all you want! :)

Like I said... check out "Learning with Carrie" for an example!! :)

I still owe you a blog about my Christmas parties I attended... I still plan on it. I thought I better mention it to remind myself! LOL

Also, I wrote up my favorite Christmas memories last Sunday... but I have to find it... I think it's on my thumb drive.

I wrote it in Notepad because I was at my mom-in-laws & she does not have a computer, or internet access... So, I took SenCi with me & typed up a storm to keep me occupied while Hubby & she watched the Snow Bowl... (the football game that was in Cleveland last week & was snowing like crazy! It was a crazy game! I don't think I've seen such a game! & The score was Cleveland 8 & Buffalo 0. Now, come on, it had to be crazy, if the score was 8 to 0!!! crazy crazy crazy!!)

Did I use the word crazy enough? I had to... I just love the zzzz's in this font!!! (Hee Hee Hee Hee... I just crack myself up sometimes!)

So, I guess what I am saying is... STAY TUNED!!

Update to 4-18-07.... (never too late! LOL) 6-23-07

So, I was told I left you "hanging" (like a monkey in a tree) after the 4-18-07 posting... I thought I had explained about the "haywireness" that happened while typing the 4-17-07 blog. (My sister just brought it to my attention last night. She said "No, you never did answer that!")
Well, it's simple... when I took my meds that morning, I had also, unknowingly, taken my Ambien, too. I must have really been tired when I took it, because I really started getting dizzy & numb & it was just not right.
I remember calling my mom & asking her I think she need to come get me & take me to the hospital... because I had no idea what was going on. She said call the doctor & lay down. If he thinks its needed, call 911.
Well, I remember calling the dr's office & he wasn't in, so the call was transferred to the hospital... by that time I was really out of it, because I remember the person saying they couldn't understand me & I think I was hung up on. Oh well, it didn't matter, because by that time I fell asleep.
I woke up about 6:30p to my mom calling & checking on me... I asked her, was I mumbling & not making any sense? She said she could understand me, but knew something was wrong. I'll bet by the time I got a hold of someone at the hospital that the Ambien really kicked in. Because I recall sluring my words & all.
So, anyway, nothing was wrong... just "put my self to sleep" a little too soon. Yeah, 12 hours too soon! LOL
Now I strictly use my daily medicine holder that's separated for Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, & Bedtime. (Which I only use breakfast & bedtime.) I don't want to do that again! It's bad enough I don't take it once in a while & stay up all night... but taking it without truly being aware... All I have to say, I'm glad I was not working... or worse yet, DRIVING!!!!
Ok, now that I have you caught up on that...
A little more update... I have remembered some more since 4-17-07... but again it's nothing signifigant & still not complete memories.
I am in the process of starting another page / blog that will consist just of the things I remember as I remember them. I'll put a link on this blog when I have it ready for viewing. Stay tuned!
