He made a SECOND landfall!!

All eyes on Hurricane Dean... 8-20-07

Finally, I have the chance to blog about this massive hurricane! (Now that hubby is back to work today. Oh, by the way, it looks as if he will be leaving for Russia in about 1 week.)

I am not sure why I am so intrigued by pictures, radar & news stories of severe weather situations, such as hurricanes & tornadoes. I know that I would not want to be in the path of one of these furious storms! However, if ever given the chance, I'd love to get some pictures of my own of a tornado or 2!!

I just wish I know why God has put this curiosity in me! I know deep down in my heart there is a reason why... just haven't figured it out as of yet!

ANYWAY, today, I just wanted to focus a little on Hurricane Dean, it looks as if it maybe on the list of notable storms, like Katrina is.

Thankfully, however, it looks as if it may not effect the state of Texas like it was 1st predicted.

Don't get me wrong, my heart (& prayers) goes out to those who already been & are to come, into it's path! It's just Texas does not need anymore rain. It's places like Florida & Georgia that's in need of rain, (but not by a Category 4 hurricane!)

Speaking of the Space Shuttle Endeavour, they've been ordered to come home a day early, due to the storm. (Which I am not sure why... because they can land in California or Florida, if needed, instead of Houston. Now, I'm confused... they are going to try to land in FL. If that's the case, then why come home a day early? Just my opinion!!)

However, if needed, you can search through NOAA's National Hurricane Center website to find updates & much more information!! Take a look throughout this site. It is quite interesting & informative! I highly recommend you book mark their home page... especially if you're area is susceptible to hurricanes!

It's that time of the year, again!! 8-19-07

The LCC FFL Draft is under way!! (LCC = Our church's name, abbreviated. FFL = Fantasy Football League.)

Well, I went over to get a "free lunch" (Thanks BL & Holiday S.!!) because today is draft day for their FFL.

I was showing of pictures & videos to the "Dorky Commish's" wife while the 1st 4 rounds were happening.

They took a break & I decided I better leave before things got a little more crazier than what they already were!

Besides I had to go to Wal-Mart (yes, for the 4th day in a row... hopefully the last time for a while!!) & get some cleaning supplies that I forgot all about the past few days!!

And so I can come home & blog with pictures of these nuts!!

Pictures? What pictures you ask ... coming up... Instead of using their names, I am going to put the person's team name under the photo... From left to right!

Unfortunately, not all the teams made it... however, Team Petty & Coop's Troops were on speaker phone with Dorky Commish. The Skeptics had the Not Yet Studious picking for her & C-Town Thunderbolts... (have no idea who this is or where they were... but I'm sure hubby would know!)

Listening to all them was just hilarious! Well, they're a funny group to start with!! I mean, come on... just look at their team names!!

(The pictures aren't the greatest, but it works for me!!... they were taken with my cell phone & look at all the lights that were on!! Also, this was during their 1st break!!)

Not Yet Studious (BL) (& no, he was not flipping anyone off... he was throwing something at the Dorky Commish), OsamaBinDawgpound (Big Cleveland Browns fan!) ... TEASING!! , Ultimate SteelHeads (My hubby, the Steelers fan, among all them Browns fans! ...& No, I didn't see that the paper was in the way of his face!! He will like that anyway, because he hates having his pic taken!!) & standing by the fish tank is Holiday S. (S is her 1st name & I'm not posting that! She is also a huge Cleveland Browns fan ... & she's VERY knowledgeable of football... so she gives these guys great competition!!)
