Verizon wireless users - need your help

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
As my regular readers know... I recently upgraded to the LG Chocolate (Black Cherry) (I had the Motorola E815)...

Anyway, it's having some glitches & over all I'm not liking the phone as much as I did when it 1st arrived...

I was looking at the Env or the Env2.... Only thing is... that it says on Vz site that it does not have "Get It Now"... which I use a lot (instead of web)... mainly for a couple games & the weather.

My question for you is... (Verizon users) ... what phone would you recommend... I like to text, but limited to 250 messages (I'm NOT a teen (sorry to any teens... no offense!!)... so, it's not a big deal)... I use for pictures (1.3 will be fine)... Get it Now (as mentioned)... Calendar & an alarm. (Oh... it would need to have a slot for me to use my MicroSD card too!!!

Any suggestions? (Nope can't change carriers) ... I have until Thursday to make up my mind... I may stop at the Vz store tomorrow to have a look... i'll be driving right by there.... so I might as well!!!

  1. (Wow! I had the Motorola E815 too!) I would first make sure that the EnV doesn't have the Get It Now feature(s) that you use. I looked on Verizon's website and you can get VCAST stuff on the EnV... I assume since you get to the VCAST features from Get It Now that it would have that feature. (I thought all Verizon phones had Get It Now, but I could be wrong.)

If the EnV DOESN'T indeed have Get It Now, you should probably go with a different phone. The Verizon salespeople are great to ask, but I was noticing that for the same price as the EnV, you could get a phone like mine, the Samsung Alias. I love it, and it's great for texting. The only thing that's a little "wonky" about it is that when you go to dial a number, the number keys are a little hard to see. The Alias is actually an improvement over the original Samsung SCH-u740, as they've made the numbers black on a white background where the other keys are white on a black background, but it can still be a little difficult to dial. This isn't really an issue for me though, as most of the people I call are in my contacts list and/or on speed dial, so I either look through my list or just have to dial one number.

  2. I can't help you. All I know is that we are having nothing but problems with Tom's Blackberry pearl 8130. We are getting our 3rd replacement one from Verizon. We are missing text messages, calls are not coming through, it doesn't ring. It's been a royal pain for the past couple of months. Tom loves what it can do when it does it. Verizon says they are having problems with it quite a bit though. He says more and more he is leaning towards the I phone 3G.
