High speed internet (that would include email & all related stuff like WiFi)
Compact Cell Phones & camera phones
Flash memory (thumb drives)

Voice Mail (instead of an answering machine)

Small TV satellite dishes

I am looking at taking at least the top 3 or 5 & using them in my writing challenge.
Thanks to all gave me a ton of stuff to choose a Top 10 list.... & keep an eye open for the stories! (From United Friends Challenge aka UFC.)
On a different note, I may be a little scarce for this week. I'll be working on my story for the challenge... and my book that I started in November... I need to try keep up with it. For I have a feeling that I'll be writing while on the planes next month.

MP3 players didn't get any votes... & I know it was tough to include the internet in with all the rest... So, I went ahead & included MP3 players in my challenge, even though it didn't have any votes.
I'll be posting my story in answer to my challenge in a couple days... So then you'll be able to see what all the fuss what about.

it was pretty easy to decide for me. i would be really lost without my internet!!

ReplyDeleteThe internet is most important to the elderly and shut-ins, who would be very lonely without any other way to get in contact with people.

I'm afraid that's one thing that can't be done with a Multiply poll - we've asked for it in muds but for now there is no way. It's a bit of a nuisance. People have gone through all sorts of hoops when they needed to close a poll, like take a screenshot of the results and then delete it or something. But I suppose if the results are just for your own purposes and there's nothing hanging on it, you could just jot down the results up to now and ignore whatever happens later. *now taking off my user support hat* :-)
