I asked him if the A&W Root Beer place is still open near by... he said he believes so. So... at 6:00 p.m. we're going to take off. I'm PUMPED!! But I'm also scared!! Because it has been over a year since I've been on the bike.
Why so long? (this is mainly for the new passengers on this train.) ... Well on March 4, 2008 I fell down 3 ICY Concrete steps & wreck my back... It's taken this long to get to where I'm not in pain all the time.
Actually I have not had any major back pain in over a month!! WOOT WOOT!!! & I can actually move & turn around without pain! Woo Hoo!! :o)
I've also battled with if I should even get on it with my Chiari Malformation (CM)... because the weight of a helmet makes things worse. Well... I'm actually having a rather good day AND it's a BEAUTIFUL day out... So, I'm going to try it!!
So... please, keep me in your prayers... not just for safety... but also that the CM won't be a problem!
P.S. Yes, that's my bike up above... it's a 2002 H-D 883 Hugger (Sportster).
I'm off to go get ready now... I hope... (Hubby was just out starting the bike & taking it for a test ride... I hope it's all ok!! He did give it a little seat time last year... so the bike wouldn't be completely idle.)
Toodles!!
P.S. Next blog will to see how well you know me... so, you best remember a couple things from this blog, if you want to do well!! (Hee hee!!) :o)
Lady Harley is BAAAACK!!!
I had been bothered with the fact that I hadn't been on my Harley in such a long time that I thought about coming up with a new user name & possibly transferring my blogs to the new name...
WELL.... after tonight's ride... I can say... NEVER MIND that!
It was an AWESOME ride! The weather is just perfect for a brief ride like that. Hubby said it was about 55 miles round trip. (We took a different route (the highway) home that on the way up to the stand. (When I say stand... I mean it's like an old fashioned drive thru. Which actually means drive up, park & eat in your car. Or in our case... at the picnic tables they have set out.)
The food was EXCELLENT (insert sound of Wayne's World guitar effect!) I have already thanked my hubby several times. Soon as we got off the bikes the car hop was there to take our order... before I even had my helmet off... & Hubby was already giving his order.
She looked at me & I wasn't ready, so, I ordered the same thing has hubby... a coney, fries, & root-beer... However, we're sitting at the table a few minutes & Hubby says, "I'm surprised you didn't get the shredded chicken sandwich." I'm like, "Oh, I didn't know they had them." I went & asked to change... & glad I did!
The french fries are them "fair fries" type & we topped with vinegar... OH SO GOOD!! & My root beer was in a nice mug... It was a perfect meal!
While we were sitting there eating... Hubby told me of how his dad would take him & his brother there about once every couple weekends. That's how he knew what to order! :-p
And it was a wonderful ride home! The sun was shining through the clouds to wear you could see the rays. I could smell lilacs every so often. (which reminds me, when we got into Ashland, & went past the Archway factory... we could smell the cookies being made. YUMMO!! It warms the heart to smell that, because it reminds me that someone came along & saved the factory from being shut down... escapes me what company.)
Things went well & I did not have a problem with my head or my back. I will say this... I wouldn't want to go much farther than that... at least not for awhile... & not until I can get a better suited helmet. (That will be a LONG time away, if at all,... may have to have it custom made.)
Speaking of my helmet... I've thought of a design I want to put on it. (It's plain black). Thinking of taking my tattoo...
& taking the lines at the top & bottom & extending them into pin stripe sort of. I have it in my mind... but just not sure how to get it to paper, so to speak. Once I do... I'll be sure to share it with you.
Yes, very nice ride! (Oh, & if you're wondering... I do admit, I'm a fair weather rider... meaning, I won't go when it's really hot!!!)
Now I need to move onto the next blog to see how well you all know me! *wink wink*
I hope you've had a good time. :)

I got a solo seat on my Super Glide, too and I LoVe it! Also, the saddle bags - what a great invention!
ReplyDeleteNothing like feeling the wind on your face... Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds lovely, not that I'd ever go on a motorbike, I'm dangerous enough on a push-bike, fishes shouldn't really ride bikes, it looks silly. ;) Glad to know you managed to go for a good ride. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time... that's the only thing I miss about my ex... I loved being on the back of his bike with him..... :)
ReplyDeletekeep going for it and enjoy everything you can........................
I'm so glad you had a good time! I do have one question: What are "fair fries"? I haven't heard that term before.
ReplyDeleteThem are the type of fries you get at the fair... or carnivals. Fresh cut fries is another term.
