Since Hubby is off on a "mini mission trip" with our church... down in Cincinnati, OH... I have decided to run some clean up programs on JunkYard (his computer)... only because he wouldn't do it when I asked when $hiba was infected.
1. I wish I would have thought of that earlier today so one of the scans could have been running while I was sleeping earlier. 2. Glad I did remember to do it... because the 1st scan has found a TROJAN on his computer (or one of the 3 fixed drives.) Scan is still running.
Well, with that said, I'll be running back & forth between the computer & living rooms tonight... I just hope that I can get it all finished & the logs posted to Major Geeks, by the time he gets home tomorrow.
MajorGeeks.com is a forum to help you with all your "tech" problems. (Plus they have some off topic threads, for those just wanting to hang out & chat about unrelated stuff.)
They have been around for over 7 years & have a great system to help you, if in need, to clean your computer. I found them when $hiba was infected a few weeks ago... & after going through their steps (THE CORRECT WAY)... I was able to get $hiba back to tip top shape withOUT having to reformat my hard drive! YAY!!
(They have you run several different types of scans that produce logs & you submit your logs for their review & if they find anything out of the ordinary, they will give you step by step instruction on how to rid the problem. Or if it's just a slow computer, they let you know what's not needed & etc.) They are VERY knowledgeable & helpful... and friendly! :)
I tried to get Hubby to run their steps when $hiba was infected, but he would not do it. I wish he would have LISTENED to me!!! Long story... I will blog about it soon enough, I'm sure! :)
It's not really fun when... it's very time consuming if you have a lot of stuff on your hard drive... or in Hubby's instance, THREE hard drives! (UGH!) Then you have to submit the logs &... WAIT for a reply! That's the hard part.... waiting! I hate that with a passion... BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!
Again, I'll blog later about all my "fun" with them! LOL!
