The day before Thanksgiving I finally got the nerve up to go get my haircut really short... & So, Hubby drove me (because we've agreed I shouldn't drive until... well, probably not until after I have the surgery or get medicine to stop the feeling of faint all the time.)
Anyway... I did this because IF I am going to be having the decompression surgery for my Chiari Malformation they will shave a bit of the hair in the center of the back of my head... and so, I didn't want to have to deal with having to cut my hair (to make it look ok) after that & be devastated by having short hair... So, I put it in my own hands to have short hair.
Honestly... it's actually a nice change of pace. I've NEVER had my hair this short!!! I like it... for now! ;)

In case you're wondering that was about 7 inches... Which means that since September I've cut off approximately a total of 17 inches of my hair! YIKES!!!

It's from when I got home & took out the little bit of the "poofy" that the stylist put in. And it can show you that the back is really really SHORT... I mean... IT'S SHORT!!! But I'm liking it.Another reason I cut it so short was because I needed it off the back of my neck. And it will be easier for me to take care of. For someone who can't stand long in the shower, washing & rinsing long hair does not cut it. (No pun intended... really!) ;)
Now I just need to wait to get the call from my dad to see what he thinks! *giggles*
I really like it. You look good with long hair, Becca ... but I think short hair looks really good on you. The stylist has done a really flattering cut.

Stilly... I don't think you'll get me to talk you into cutting your hair short... I really like long hair... HOWEVER... if it's a matter of necessity ... yeah, then get it done! But look around at the styles before you do it.
ReplyDeleteThere was a website that Dory gave me that helped me. But when we got their the girl who was doing my hair... both my hubby & I are like... "We like YOUR style!" So this is similar to hers! ;)

ReplyDeleteI remember having short hair once, but it wasn't layered like you had yours done. I just had a "bob" style for a little while. I like my hair long though. To me, it's easier than short hair since I can just let it air dry and know it will look fine.

Thank you all! I am liking it! I don't have to pull it back off my neck in a pony tail. So, that helps A LOT!!! So far everyone likes it. I haven't heard any negative comments... though some may just be nice & not saying. LOL. ;)

ReplyDeleteI think a few gray hairs gives your look added personality. I'm thinking of just letting myself go gray when I start to (just a few gray strands here and there now) and not bothering to color it. :o)
