Eggcellent Day!! ... (9-29-07)

On the old laptop again... so, this will be short & sweet!

It was a beautiful day here in Ohio! Hubby's 1/2 brother (I'll call him CG) came up from Columbus area, with his girlfriend, for a visit... so we rode our Harley's down to his other brother's for a cook out. It was a great ride... thankfully it was short... I don't think I could have done a lenghty ride.

If you're a regular reader, the color of my newest egg should not surprise you!

It's been a few days... 9-28-07

It's been a rough few days. Nothing really is wrong... just a bit tired...

I spent way TOO much money while hubby was in Russia... So, for 2 nights I had to take the generic sleep meds, instead of Ambien CR because I had to wait until hubby received his pay check yesterday.

The medicine I took stays in my system for a real long time. I spent most of Wednesday & Thursday sleeping off the generic stuff.

Last night I was able to take Ambien CR again... however, for some reason I woke up after 5 hours sleep (5:30 a.m.) & could not fall back asleep. So, here I am, checking my email & blogging.

However, I am being lazy & didn't go back to the computer room... I decided to use the laptop... Nope, didn't get a new one. Using the 10 year old one I spoke of a few weeks ago. The one that gets really really hot right away.

I didn't even ask if we could get a new laptop because I feel I don't deserve it...... yet. Mainly, because I really didn't get any cleaning done while hubby was in Russia. I mainly only messed with the kitchen. I'm happy I did it, but I am disappointed in myself that I didn't stick to my original plan of getting the computer & living rooms cleaned up so we could move around.

Since I have been sleeping the past couple days, I haven't had the "energy" to try cleaning again. I am hoping that since hubby will be home tomorrow that it will inspire me to clean. However, I can't make any type of plans because every time I do, they always seems to be changed!

Well, that's it for now. I think I am going to lay down while I watch "Live with Regis & Kelly".

P.S. Fall weather has returned to Ohio, for now. It looks like it may be short lived! Though you can never trust the forecasters!! We'll see what happens. I just know I am tired of the hot & humid weather!! I'm ready for snuggle weather!!

Still not done... (9-25-07)

Does this picture ^ look familiar? If you peruse the Photo Gallery on Weather.com often, you may have seen this in the "Great Outdoors" category. For more details about the picture, click the words "photo gallery" above.

The latest on Hubby's luggage is it ARRIVED at 3:45p.m. Monday!! & Now we know why it didn't come across the conveyor belt in Atlanta... because it was pulled off & hand inspected. So, he went through the bag yesterday & found that his pocket knife & loose change were taken. (The knife was in his work tool bag in the suitcase!)

Had they just transferred the luggage from one plane to the other, he would never had access to it & then there would have been NO reason to re-inspect it! Because it was thoroughly hand inspected in Russia, BEFORE he was aloud to check it in!

So, now the question I have is, who does he have to report the stolen knife to? Local police, Atlanta police or airlines... just to "cover his tush" (cyt) in case someone (God forbid) uses it in a crime!!

Hubby said they went through FOUR security check points in Russia, before he was allowed into gate area to board the plane. Then when they arrived in Atlanta, they had to go through it all again. Isn't that STUPID?! Because when they disembarked in Atlanta they were in a "controlled" corridor.

Hubby's comment about that is, "They HAND inspected everything (including me!) before we could board the plane in Russia! So, why go through it again in Atlanta. It's not like I had the ability, or the materials to build a bomb while I was on the plane from Moscow!"

I replied, "You can thank the Al-Qaeda for that!!"

I agree with him... it's quite idiotic to make them...
1. go through security after being on a plane for over 11 hours & just going to a connecting flight!
2. Require them to take their luggage from one conveyor belt to the next... when it could have been transferred for them!!

They did it when they were LEAVING the country! Why not when returning AFTER being on a plane for so long??

At least we now know what to expect if either of us travels via planes again!

My egg & football are due to hatch sometime today! You can see them on my Mash page... if you clicked that link & received a message saying you need to be invited... please send me a message with your email & I will send you one! Please do NOT leave your email in the comment section!

If you don't want a Mash page, then look in my tag cloud to the right of this blog... Click on the tag "eggs" & it will take you to all the blogs I have tagged about the egg I've had in the past & my current eggs.

Oh, in case you're wondering... he is NOT thrilled about the kitchen. I would go into it all... but I want to, because it will just depress me more than I already am! Maybe later!

Well, I need to go clean some more! Talk to you later and...

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles... 9-24-07

No, this is not a movie review.
After not "seeing" a bed or shower for 48 hours, Hubby is home!! However, his luggage is not!

He called me before he left Atlanta & said they had to transfer their bags from one conveyor belt to another... but his never showed up. They said he could not file a claim until he got to his final destination.

So, while his boss (SP) & I were watching the conveyor belt in Cleveland Hopkins, Hubby went to the baggage claim room. Then he comes back right away... He was told his suitcase made it on the flight.

Well, less than 5 minutes later the conveyor stopped. That was it! No more! Not only did Hubby not have his luggage... neither did SP... or about a 1/2 dozen or so other passengers from the same flight!

The baggage claim lady told SP his bag was on the flight due in at 11:00 p.m. & would be delivered to his home the next day.

She told Hubby about his, "We'll find it & deliver it to your home."

Thankfully he has a few pair of jeans here at home!

WOW! He's up now! I have to go... need to get hold of the airlines!

More later!

Hard part is done! (9-22-07)

I have a wood floor!!! I had been warning hubby I was going to pull the carpet in the kitchen! Well, as you know I did that Thursday & my mom rented a floor sander yesterday!

Well, we finally finished sanding the floor at about 8:40 p.m... after starting about 9:00 a.m. WHEW!

Mom did a lot of the hard work & I took many breaks... I had to, because of my ACM!! I have found if I don't, I'd probably been in bed for the next 2 days!

After all this & finish cleaning tomorrow before I have to run & get hubby... I'll probably be out for a week!

Speaking of hubby... sorry, but, I won't have time to post pictures of his flight status like I did on his way to Russia.

Here's some photos of my kitchen floor in progress... I'll post more once it's all finished. Good night!!

Before & After... 9-20-07

What a difference a hair cut... I mean buzz, makes!!!

Taking a quick break to share Mike's before & after pictures I promised.

We have already tackled the hardest project... pulling carpet up in the kitchen!!

Why would anyone want carpet in their kitchen?? Hubby said house was like that when we bought it. I guess I'll have to get some before & after shots of that for you, too...

However, that may be a little bit because I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do now!

I mean, how to clean up these wood floors. I know! I'll call my daddy... Yep, he knows what to do... Only thing is I need to find out what kind of wood floors it is... Oak or pine??

Ok, well, got to feed the monster... Ok, I admit... Mike has actually been a HUGE help today!!

I can't wait to see the look on hubby's face when he sees the bare floor! I don't think I'll tell him yet! (Here's hoping he's not reading my blog!)

Well, got to get back at it!

LET'S DO IT.... TAKE BACK AMERICA... (9-19-07)

The following is from an email I received from my dad the other day! I think it's ties into Mama Di's blog!

(If you're a regular reader, you know I don't like to "make waves" but recently things (of varied subjects) have been brought to my attention that I just feel I must share! This happens to be one of them!! Please keep in mind, if you have a different opinion, you're more than welcome to comment about it, however, please do not put anyone down about their opinions!!)

LET'S DO IT!!!!!

WRITE IT ON THE BACK OF YOUR ENVELOPES !

You may have heard in the news that the Post Office has been forced to take down small posters that say...

"IN GOD WE TRUST"

The law, they say, is being violated.

Anyway, I heard proposed on a radio station show, that we should all write "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the back of all our mail... after all, that is our national motto, and it's on all the money we use to buy those stamps. I think it is a wonderful idea.

We must take back our nation from all the people who think that anything that offends them should be removed.

It has been reported that 86% of Americans believe in God.

Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the pledge of Allegiance.

Could it be that WE just need to take action and tell the 14% to sit down AND shut up??

So are you with me?
