Still not done... (9-25-07)

Does this picture ^ look familiar? If you peruse the Photo Gallery on Weather.com often, you may have seen this in the "Great Outdoors" category. For more details about the picture, click the words "photo gallery" above.

The latest on Hubby's luggage is it ARRIVED at 3:45p.m. Monday!! & Now we know why it didn't come across the conveyor belt in Atlanta... because it was pulled off & hand inspected. So, he went through the bag yesterday & found that his pocket knife & loose change were taken. (The knife was in his work tool bag in the suitcase!)

Had they just transferred the luggage from one plane to the other, he would never had access to it & then there would have been NO reason to re-inspect it! Because it was thoroughly hand inspected in Russia, BEFORE he was aloud to check it in!

So, now the question I have is, who does he have to report the stolen knife to? Local police, Atlanta police or airlines... just to "cover his tush" (cyt) in case someone (God forbid) uses it in a crime!!

Hubby said they went through FOUR security check points in Russia, before he was allowed into gate area to board the plane. Then when they arrived in Atlanta, they had to go through it all again. Isn't that STUPID?! Because when they disembarked in Atlanta they were in a "controlled" corridor.

Hubby's comment about that is, "They HAND inspected everything (including me!) before we could board the plane in Russia! So, why go through it again in Atlanta. It's not like I had the ability, or the materials to build a bomb while I was on the plane from Moscow!"

I replied, "You can thank the Al-Qaeda for that!!"

I agree with him... it's quite idiotic to make them...
1. go through security after being on a plane for over 11 hours & just going to a connecting flight!
2. Require them to take their luggage from one conveyor belt to the next... when it could have been transferred for them!!

They did it when they were LEAVING the country! Why not when returning AFTER being on a plane for so long??

At least we now know what to expect if either of us travels via planes again!

Oh, in case you're wondering... he is NOT thrilled about the kitchen. I would go into it all... but I want to, because it will just depress me more than I already am! Maybe later!
