Why women live longer

Thank you Grandma Rosy (sent to me via email)

Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed."

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.

Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box level! s, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.

She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button

She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.

She watered the plants, emptied a waste! basket and hung up a towel to dry.

She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.

She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped! the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.

Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.

Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."

"I'm on my way," she said.

She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.

She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.

In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack.

She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list.

She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed."

And he did...without another thought.

Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?

CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... (and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)

Share this, if you wish, with the phenomenal women in your life...they'll love you for it!  I just did.

THEN, GO TO BED!

Taking a break... sort of... (& Secret Valentine note!)

I just wanted you to know that I may not reply to your messages as quick as I normally do...

Hubby is leaving for California (for work) very early Wednesday morning. So, tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll be trying to get all the laundry complete.

Then while he's away, I am going to TRY to get my house organized... like I was supposed to do while he was in Russia.

I have been warned... NO REMOLDING!!
Not just by hubby... but also by
Mama Di! LOL

If you were not a regular reader back in September when hubby was sent to Russia for 10 days for work... I had told him I was going to clean house (like a spring clean)... but instead I pulled the carpet out of my kitchen & then my mom was inspired to help me paint the kitchen. I thought for sure he'd be as excited as we were... but, it did not go over well.

Even if it had been received well... I made a vow to myself... I will NOT be pulling anymore carpet! It's not only is a pain... but cleaning up is as well!

I'll still be around in the next week... but I won't be posting... Unless I come across something that I feel must be shared. (Knowing me... I'll be posting something every day, still! LOL)

One more note... I am also excepting sign up for Secret Valentines! Click here for Cupid's Arrow's (aka Secret Santa's Elf... aka... ME!!) site. There you will see what it is all about!! :)

Take care & I'll talk to you all soon!

Hugs & Smiles, Lady Harley!
P.S. What do you think of my dazzling picture? It was created especially for me, by a friend on glitter-graphics.com! I'm lovin' it!

United Friends Challenge #8 - Coleman's Story

This challenge was set by yours truly!

Write as if you are an animal ….

If you are a domestic pet, tell us how you came to be with your new parents and about your life.

If you are a wild animal, tell us about your life – and would you want to be with a “human family?"

When I made the challenge, I was thinking of doing a wild animal... but I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about the day Coleman came into my life.

Now, please keep in mind this is during the time of my memory block, so this is mixed with some of my memories & some of the stories told to me & some of it is what I like to think happened before I came upon the scene.

Home is where your dog is!

This is what I think Coleman would have said about that day...

Sitting up when another dog was placed into the cage with me, I said, "Hey, watch it! You're sitting on my tail!"

"Oh, sorry. You know they don't give us much room do they?"

"It's ok, it's not your fault, they just basically shoved you right in here with me. By the way, where are we going?"

"We're heading to be put on display. From what I heard we have to be on our best behavior so that someone will take us home with them."

"Well, anything will be better than where I was 3 days ago!"

Before I could tell my story the vehicle came to an abrupt stop.

Beep Beep Beep the traveling companions heard as the van backed into a parking spot.

Someone came to the back & opened up the doors. My new friend & I made some noise...

"It's ok. You'll get your chance." said a lady.

She then opens up the cage next to me & puts a leash on a beagle, then takes him into a big building.

"Where is he going?" I asked my new buddy.

"That's where we will meet our..." then the door opened again, interrupting the chocolate lab.

"Hey their handsome, it's your turn." says another sweet lady with the leash.

She reaches in opens my cage & puts the leash around my friend.

"What about me?" I barks at the worker.

"Don't worry Coleman, We'll be right back for you." Placing a hand under my chin she continues, "I'll bet you'll be one of the 1st to go!" She reaches and pets me on the head.

I stand up & shake, as the door closes once again.

"Well, this is a lot better than being in the plastic box with my brother's & sisters!" thinking back to that dark day we were found by this nice lady.

Before I could recall anymore the first lady worker returns. "Ok, Sweetie, it's your turn!" She puts the leash around me & I playfully jump out & am guided to a grassy area.

I look at the lady, not knowing what she wants me to do. "Go on, do your thing before we go in."

"Oh, how'd she know I had to go potty."

After pacing around & sniffing I finally find a spot & squat. Then I  gently walk up to the lady with a smile on his face. She pets him on the head & says, "Ok, it's time. You won't have to do anything, except give that same look. Someone is bound to fall in love with you right away."

She guides me into that big building. The first thing I notice was the smell of the all the food. Hmmm that smells SO good.

I started to walk toward some boxes to investigate, but I received a tug the other way. "Sorry, you can't have any of them. Maybe we can get you a treat later. 1st you need to get up here." The lady says as she picks me up & puts me in another cage. This time I was by myself.

"Hey I see you made it!" I heard next to me. I look over & it was my buddy who rode with me.

"What is this place?" I asked him.

"Not sure exactly, but perk up here come some perspective owners!"

I sat up on my hind legs, panted & smiled. But they walked right past me. They stopped and looked at my buddy. He was pawing at the cage & barked "Pick me. Pick me". The woman turned around & said to the lady worker, "He's just what we want. Please tell me more!"

The lady opens the cage & my buddy jumped out & right into the arms of the man.

I was so depressed. All the other dogs around me were getting picked to what I found out, a home. A home with those who would love me.

The day was about over & I was so tired. So, I laid my head down in between my paws & was starting to rest my eyes. Next thing I know, this cute girl is looking toward my cage as she's talking to the lady worker.

I heard her ask, what's going on? The lady explained how all of us are dogs who were rescued. Then the cute girl with a pony tail walk toward my cage & asks, "May I hold this one?"

I wasn't sure if she was referring to me, so I just stayed put until the door opened. The lady worker reached in & swooped me up & put me in this kind looking woman's arms.

I figured this is the time I should pour on the charm. So, as she was standing talking with the workers, I laid my head across her arm.

I heard her exclaim "Aww. That is so sweet. What is this little one's story?"

The lady worker started to tell her my story.

"Well, we've named him Coleman because we found him in a Coleman cooler. Someone had called us telling us to come get the puppies off their front porch. When we got there, a red cooler was sitting with the lid on most of the way. it was off enough for them to breathe. There was a note on the door telling us to take all the dogs."

"Oh, how sad!" The pony tailed girl said. "You know, I just came here for dog food for my other dog at home. I don't know if my husband will let me bring another one home. May I hold him a little longer, while I call him?"

"Sure, go ahead."

I looked up at her & then place my head back down on her arm & sighed. She pet my head while she was talking to the worker. She then walked around the store & talked to someone else on a cell phone.

"Hon, he's so cute! Can I... can we do it?"

He must have said no, because she walked back & handed me back to the lady worker. I thought for sure she was the one who would take me home.

"How much longer will you be here?" she asked. "I have to think about it & talk to my husband a little more."

"For about 2 more hours. We'd rather you think about it than make a decision in haste."

"I have a couple other places to go & then I'll be back, because I still have to get dog food."

"I understand." the worker says as she puts me back in the cage.

The girl walks off & then a few minutes later I see her around the corner on the phone again. She keeps looking at me, so I just laid down again with my nose in between my paws.

She then disappeared. I let out a big sigh & thought that was it. She's not taking me with her.

Short time later I seen her again, she was talking to some other workers. She points to me a couple times. I kept my eyes fixed on her. Something about her just made me feel as if I needed her to take me in her arms again.

Sure enough the person she was talking to comes over to my cage & I am placed in her arms again. Oh so comfy! I want to go with her!

"I have some other places to go. Can he stay here until I come back, or do I need to take him now?"

"He can stay here & we'll get him all ready for you."

She hands me back to the lady worker this time. Pets me on the head & says "Don't worry Coleman, I'll be back for you!" Then she signs some papers & walks out the front door.

The lady worker doesn't put me back in my cage this time. She takes me back to a big metal box. Then she runs water all over me. Along with some stinky stuff. I try to shake but she puts her hand on my back & says "Wait. I need to get you looking handsome for your new mommy."

A new mommy? It worked! Alright!

She rinses me off & then says "Ok" & then I proceeded to shake all that water off right into her face. She laughed & I licked her hands as she tried to dry me off.

Then she picks me up & takes me back to the cage. I laid down as she puts a tag on my cage. I wonder what it says?

I found out as other people walked by, looked at the tag & said "Oh, this says he's adopted already."

It seemed like forever & a day before I saw that freckled pony tailed girl again. This time she was smiling ear to ear.

"I come to take you home, Coleman." she said to me.

The lady worker said "His appointment to get fixed is day after tomorrow." She hands my new mom a card & continued, "If you need any help, please let us know. Keep in touch."

Fixed? What does she mean by fixed? I'm not broken!

Then my new mom carries me out & puts me into a soft seat, looks down at me & says, "Ready to go for a ride, Coleman? Ready to meet your new brother Jake? Ready to go home?" I licked her hand to tell her I was more than ready!

It had been a long few days & I was so tired I didn't care who Jake was. All I knew I felt so happy I was going home...

I looked up at my new mom & barked, "Home, that is such a wonderful word!!"

That was over 8 years ago & since then I gained sister, named Sunny. My brother Jake is now in heaven.

I still pace around looking for a place to potty.

My dad taught me how to shake hands and to give a "high 5!". I'm spoiled rotten! I love it here!

Sunny & I get to go to my mom's family farm to run. There I have made some more friends.

Every night before we go to sleep my mom gives me a big hug & kiss & says "I love you Coleman!"

Yep, home is a wonderful word!

After church one Sunday a husband, Walter & wife, Michelle, split off to talk to their respective friends.

Walter walks up to where the men where gathered. "Hey Walter, I heard you're having a rough time plowing that corn field!" asked a fine dressed gentleman.

Walter replies, "Yeah! That's an understatement! First the tractor wouldn't start. After finding a loose plug, it fired right up. Then as I am backing out I heard something crack. I looked down & right under the wheel was a board that fell from the ceiling. I looked up & sure enough an animal had been up in the attic & knocked out this board. Thankfully it wasn't anything with nails. You know how much that would have cost me!"

All his buddies nodded their heads in agreement & one even piped up & said "Oh yeah, an arm & a leg!"

"I finally made it to the field after filling up the tractor with gas & then the plow would not lower. I found a wasp nest in the control box! I got the wasp spray & doused them all before they knew what hit them!" Walter continued. "Got them all, I did!"

The men patted Walter on the back in congratulations.

Meanwhile on the other side of the church, Michelle was chatting with a few of the ladies when another walks up & asks, "What's this I hear Walter had an adventure yesterday?"

"Oh, that is an understatement! Walter was trying to get the tractor running so he could plow the corn field, when he found a wasp nest in a box thing on the tractor. I heard him hoot & holler that I had to race to the window to see what was all the commotion. There he is stripping. I had no idea what had happened, so I ran out the front door & before I could get around the house he was stark naked & jumping in the creek!

I reached the tractor & saw a wasp crawling next to the tractor. I proceeded to the shop & grabbed the can of wasp spray walked over to the tractor & sprayed at the one & only wasp. Then from the creek I heard Walter hollering: "Watch it they swarmed all over me." I went into the shop & grabbed his jacket & met him at the bank of the creek & he steps out & I asked him to show me where he was stung. He said he jumped in the water before they could reach him. Now mind you, that nest was only as big as my thumb." Michelle said, holding her one thumb up.

"He crept up to the tractor like as if he was an elephant trying to avoid a mouse! He looked at me so pathetic & scared & I told him I sprayed at it already. He then began to get dressed again."

The men looked over to see their wives laughing so hard they were crying.

Walter sighed figuring they just heard the true story & made a mental note that next Sunday he would sit in the back of the church so he could sneak out soon as the sermon was over.

"Simon" - My submission for UFC week # 6

I have been invited to participate in United Friends Challenges... This is my 1st official challenge. (It's a good thing there is no limit of words, because I really got on a roll with this one.)
By the way, this story is purely fictional.
What's more, is some of the names "came" to me by way of having the police scanner on while I was typing it up. Some were street names, not really last names. I'm amazzzed at the ease of this. For I thought at 1st this was a tough challenge.)

This week's Challenge was set by Zafreud.

You are in the aisle of a supermarket – narrate an
incident you witnessed, including:

Who was with you?
What happened?
Who else was involved in that incident?
What was the result?

Simon

My husband & I stepped onto the stage amidst the crowd's erupting clapping.

The host of the morning show guided us to the seats next to his. Then turns to the camera & says; "Here with us today are local heroes Charles & Shelly Bowers. This is the husband & wife team who saved the life of 7 year old Simon Fairlawn. Charles has laryngitis today, so Shelly will be telling us about their heroic actions."

He then turns to me & asks; "I understand you were the 1st to notice something was wrong."

"Yes, Peter, Charles & I were doing our weekly grocery shopping, when we turned down the cookie & cracker aisle, I saw Simon sitting on the floor next to the cookies. When he looked at me I noticed he was pale in color.

I tapped Charles on the shoulder, who was looking at something on the shelf, & said 'Hey dear, that wee one there does not look very good.' He glanced at Simon then put back the box he was looking at & without a word he went into action.

He picked up Simon & performed the Heimlich Maneuver. After a couple thrusts a big piece of cookie popped out. As Charles started to put him back down Simon started to convulse. Without skipping a beat Charles gently laid the boy down & took his coat off & put it under the wee one's head.

Then he braced Simon's head with his hands to keep him from thrashing about. I instinctively picked up my cell phone & dialed 911. At that same time my husband looked at me & asked "911?" & all I could do was nod, because at that time the dispatcher was asking me "what's my emergency".

Charles then motioned for me to come help him keep Simon from hurting himself until the seizure had passed. Putting the phone between my shoulder & ear, I relayed to the dispatcher as to what was happening & where we were.

With my hands on Simon's trembling feet I calmly explained who I was & that Charles was with us. "Mrs. Bowers, this is Henry. (Charles' boss) Ask Charles if the boy is still breathing."

I switched the phone to speaker phone & said "Charles, Captain Henry wants to know if the wee one is still breathing?"

Charles answers in a calm voice, "Cap, he's breathing, but it's sporadic. What's the squad's ETA?"
"2 minutes Charles. What all have you done so far?"
My husband proceeded to talk in medical terms that I do not recall.

Captain Henry replied, "Ok, good. What's his pulse?" Answering that along with other questions Charles began to access the wee one's health.

Then all of a sudden Simon stopped thrashing about. Before I could breathe a sigh of relief, Charles gave me a panic look & asked me "Remember your CPR?" All I could do was nod & went right to Simon's head. While doing the compressions, Charles yelled towards the phone, now laying at the wee one's feet...

"Cap, he's stopped breathing. Shelly & I are performing CPR now!"

Captain Henry then said, "Charles, Squad 56 just pulled up. Can someone else direct them to the aisle your at?"

Unaware we had a crowd of people around us, someone said "I'll go."

Moments later I was tapped on the shoulder & I stepped back & let Charles and the other rescue officers take over.

What seemed like an hour later (but only about a minute) the wee little boy started coughing. And the small crowd around us began to clap & cheer."

Peter, the host, took a deep breath in and asked the question that was on my mind the moment I saw Simon sitting on the floor... "Shelly, where were the parents during all this time?"

"Well, Peter, I wondered the same thing & then we found out Simon had ran away from the Spade County Orphanage. By some miracle he made it all the way to Clearville unharmed."

"Charles, I know you can barely talk, but can you briefly tell us what made you instinctively know to start doing the Heimlich on Simon?"

Charles clears his throat & wrasply says, "Being an EMT, I've seen the look before when someone is choking. And I know little boys enjoy cookies. So it was a natural reaction for me."

Looking at the camera Peter said "The story doesn't end there. When we come back, we will find out how Simon is doing now."

"And we're out" yelled the director. "Back in 2"

Peter looked at us & said "When we come back I'm going to ask you about the next chapter in your heroism!"

"I'm not the hero, my husband is." I replied. Glancing at my now blushing husband.

"On the contrary!" Peter continued, "Not everyone would have opened their home to a child you have no clue what their past is."

I was just about to answer his statement when the director said, "Back in 5, 4, 3, 2" & then points to Peter to begin talking again.

"We're back with Charles & Shelly Bowers. We just heard how, last week, Charles, a local EMT, saved the life of 7 year old Simon Fairlawn, who was choking on a cookie at the Clearville Supermarket. If you're just joining us, you may think that's just the job of an EMT. Well, Charles was off duty grocery shopping with his wife Shelly. He sprang into action when Shelly pointed out something was not right with the boy. However, the story does not end there."

Turning to me Peter said, "You told us earlier that Simon ran away from the Spade County Orphanage. Do you know what circumstances led him to this... adventure?"

"Yes I do Peter. I do, because my heart ached for him when I heard the word orphan. You see, the wee one's parents were killed by a drunk driver last year & because he has no other family living, not even a grandparent, the State shipped him off to Spade County Orphanage."

Intrigued to hear more Peter asked "What is Simon's condition now?"

"Well, after a trip to the hospital & a few test to be sure he didn't suffer anything from the short time he had stopped breathing. He is doing fine... as any 7 year old can be." I replied.

Peter turns to the camera again & relays "Still this is not all of the story. I consider BOTH Charles & Shelly heroes because not only did Charles safe the physical life of this young boy... but they have also opened their home to him."

"What was it, Shelly, that made you want to take Simon home with you?"

"Peter, just as anyone, my heartstrings were tugged at when I heard of how Simon was being bullied at the orphanage. I thought back to my days in school when I was teased about my Irish accent. Then I heard it was because Simon can't speak very well. He was injured in the car accident that took his parents life. So, of course, everything in my heart & mind told me that we need to help this lass." I paused & wondered if I should continue.

Peter took that moment to tell the audience... "Shelly & Charles proceeded with the paper work and all other legalities to become Simon's foster parents. They are waiting for the adoption to be finalized. Before I continue, let's just see for ourselves how well Simon is doing."

He motions to the same entrance we came through & the camera follows as Simon runs out onto the stage & jumps into Charles' lap & puts his wee little embarrassed head into my shoulder. At this time everyone in the audience is standing up, & clapping.

Looking over at Peter, I see he too is standing & clapping. He sits down & motions for the audience to sit as well.

Trying to coax him out of his shell Peter asks Simon: "Well Young Man, you've had quite the adventure!"

Not wanting to move, Simon nods his head while still on my shoulder.

"Simon, what cookies were you eating when it got stuck in your throat?"

Whispering he replied: "Chips Ahoy". Because he was right next to my microphone, it came out clear as a bell. The audience chuckled.

Peter asked him another question, "Will you ever eat Chips Ahoy again?"

That perked him up. He sat right up & said "Yes Sir! They my favrit"

"Favorite", I whispered slowly to Simon.

"That's what I said! FAVRIT!"

With that the whole studio laughed! I just bent my head down & kissed that sweet wee little head!

Then I said "How can you not love a sweet lass like this!"

Without prompting, Simon piped up & said "Mama Shelly & Papa Charles said they gonna wait a bit before let me have any more 'Chips Ahoy!"

Laughter erupted once more from the audience.

"So, Simon, I take it you like living with the Bowers?" the smiling host asked.

"Oh yes, Sir! I wuv them! Did you know Papa Charles gave me his breath?"
Trying so hard not to laugh, Peter smiled & said "Yes, Mama Shelly just told us the whole story."

Looking at Charles he asked "Is that how you lost your voice?"
He shook his head & looked at me to explain.

"No. When we heard the news that Simon was coming to live with us, he went outside & yelled for all the neighbors to hear "Simon is coming home! Simon is coming home!"

Looking over to Charles I could see he was blushing but also nodding in agreement & with a tear in his eye.

"Well before we go," Peter said to the camera, "We have a couple things for the Bowers."

I looked at Charles & Simon & then Peter and wondered what was he talking about.

Peter turns to us & continues, "We called Keebler's, the Chips Ahoy manufacturer, & told them of your heroic story. And so they won't loose their favorite customer, they said each month you will receive 2 boxes of Chips Ahoy for life!" They audience cheered.

"But that's not all... The Owner of Keebler, himself, has something else. Ladies & Gentleman... Mr. Keebler"

All 3 of us stood as the well suited gentleman came up on stage to us.

He shakes our hands & says "I am so honored to meet you Mr. & Mrs. Bowers. You too Simon! I think you're our biggest fan. It is my understanding you are needing a specialized tutor. With that said, we, at Keebler Cookies are presenting you & your family with a trust fund for you to help continue your education. This includes a full scholarship to the University of your choice." He hands me an envelope with all the details.

My mouth must have about hit the floor, because Simon whispered up to me: "Mama Shelly, does Papa Charles need to give you his breath too?" Because he was right next to my lapel mic, the audience heard it & filled the room with laughter once again.

"No, hon, I'm just amazed & shocked. You may not realize it now, but you've just been given the opportunity of a lifetime." Then I turn to Mr. Keebler & shake his hand & pull him into a hug & thank him over & over.

Peter hushes the audience who haven't sat down since Mr. Keebler came onto stage. "Charles, Shelly, Simon, we have 1 more surprise for you."

Out came a woman dressed in a judges robe. "From Spade County Courts, The Honorable Beth Hollingsworth."

"Thank you Peter. Simon, all of us at the Family Courts and Family & Children Services wish you & the Bowers a long happy life together. To do so, we have pushed through the paperwork & pulled some strings for the fastest adoption on Spade County record."

I started to cry & Charles picks up Simon & starts to twirl him around. We ended up in a group hug.

I looked at the judge & said "Your Honor, we don't know how to thank you."

"No need! Just being able to see Simon in a loving home is thanks enough. We've all been worried about him since he lost his mom & dad last year. His mom was my Bailiff & his dad worked at Family Services."

Peter reaches around & hands me a Kleenex. "Before we go, Your Honor, will you please make it official here on our show?"

"I'd be glad to." With that she said a few legal things & then said "I know pronounce you Simon Bowers!" She turns to the audience & says "I now present to you for the 1st time ever, The Bowers Family!"

Everyone was clapping & wiping their faces.

Simon looked up at us & said... "Does this mean I can call you Mommy & Daddy now?"

"Oh yes!" both Charles & I cried & picked him up for a family hug!

I know, I know this is not a review... but I didn't want to post it into a blog...

Anyway... I'd like to know if anyone in the Multiply community is using Linux & what do you think of it?

Hubby has installed it on the desktop & I am thinking of installing it on the laptop... to hopefully speed it up!

I would like to know the positives AND negatives! To help me decide!

18 down 1 to go

I am actually shocked... New York Giants beat the Green Bay Packers in OT to win the NFC Championship & advance to the Super Bowl to play the 18 - 0 New England Patriots.

Well, now I really don't know who to root for! Usually the AFC team is who I'd like to see win... However, I feel that one team needs to knock New England down... And kind of happy that Eli made... just would have been even better if he'd be playing against Peyton. Oh well... I'll keep an open mind.

Who will you be cheering for???

Barrett-Jackson Auction - Speed TV

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other
Every year at this time Speed TV dedicates a major block of it's viewing time to The Barrett-Jackson Auction.

The auction block is under an 8 acres tent in Scottsdale, Az

Offered to the television audience, to keep you glued to the 39 hours total (Tuesday through Sunday) live broadcast (10 hours today & tomorrow & 4 hours on Sunday) is the opportunity join in on the fun of bidding with a fantasy game.

There are prizes for the Hagerty Fantasy Bid winners. They have winners for the 1st successful guess. Top daily winners receive a prize and prizes for over all. (Click that link above for more info!)

My hubby & I have been watching since Wednesday (we missed the start on Tuesday) & bidding on each of the Hagerty Fantasy Bid cars.

I am only bidding for fun, to try to get my name (Lady Harley) up on the screen. So my guesses are just that... a guess!!

However, Hubby's bids are more educated. He knows cars! Plus he will research for a short time on the web before entering his guess to what the hammer price will be.

The coverage is not just about the auction... they do their best to teach you about each car.

One of the stage announcers, Mike Joy, says he's "just an enthusiast, I'm no expert". Yet he will give you details about a car that not everyone would even think about. (Yes, NASCAR fans, this is the same Mike Joy that broadcasts some of the races!!) Mike & his co-announcers will point out the positive AND negatives of a vehicle so that any internet or phone bidders can see the detail.

Bidders attending in person have the ability to inspect it themselves.

This is a great show not just for car guys & gals... but also anyone who wants to see something out of the ordinary.

For example... earlier today across the block went one of the Beverly Hillbillies Jalopy. (It was also a Hagerty Fantasy Bid). It went for $125,000. Another rare find was a recreation of the Adam West Batmobile... $185,000 was the winning bid. There were even fans dressed in Batman costumes.

Everything that is auctioned is at NO RESERVE... meaning the highest bidder gets it no matter what!

My 4 out or 5 stars is a combination of the show along with the fantasy bid game. Because they need to make some adjustments to the internet part. I don't know if it's from the increase of bidders as the night goes on or if it's something else... because it take a little bit to get it to refresh when it's time to bid.

Also, they only post the totals of the top 20 bidders, so you do not know where you stand if you are not in the top 20. I feel there should be a way to see your personal total.

How the game works: Anyone one with the closest bid, without going over gets 100 points. If exact & fastest to enter bid, they receive an extra 21 points. Then they have a scale for up to 50% of the bid. So if a car went for $100,000 & you're bid was $50,000 you would still receive points.

You can bid either from the internet or text message. Knowing that my old laptop is slow, I grab my cell phone & send a text soon as they say "open for bids".

Another benefit of being live at the auction is you could "rub elbows" with celebrities!

Among the "stars" to attend is Tony Stewart... & he is auctioned one of his 2007 Monte Carlo NASCAR #20 race car! All monies raised will go to The Darrell Gwynn Foundation. (Tony bought the car from Joe Gibbs Racing just to bring it to the auction to raise money for The Darrell Gwynn Foundation. WAY TO GO TONY!!!)

This foundation was established to help try to find a cure for paralysis. They also seek out children in need of motorized wheel chairs & donates it to them. Each chair costs about $10,000. Darrell Gwynn himself was in attendance also.

Tonight they raised OVER $400,000. That's 40 chairs to be donated!!! HURRAY!!!

Other celebrities I've seen tonight John Schneider, Reggie Jackson, Arie Lyendeck & Muhammad Ali... Yes, the legend - Ali!! Oh, there have been others... you'll have to watch to see who you can pick out!

Now the crazzzy bidding is in full swing! It's PRIME-TIME!!

At the B.J. Auction has something for all ages this year... Going up for auction tomorrow during PRIME-TIME is the ONE & ONLY... ROBOSAURUS!! Yep, that car crushing mammoth (40 feet tall) robot! "The opportunity to make a purchase of a lifetime!" is how it is described in the auction brochure!

That's the main reason I am posting this review... to encourage you to tune in AT LEAST to tomorrow's coverage to see Robosaurus break someone's bank! (And maybe even a record.) Speaking of... each year the previous year's record is usually crushed!

Last year it was a Blue Carroll Shelby's Super Snake Cobra that once belonged to Bill Cosby. It was 1 of 2. The winner was the auction regular Ron Pratte, (who also bought Tony Stewart's race car earlier tonight). Winning bid for the Shelby... hold on to your hats...

5 MILLION DOLLARS!! Oh yes, I did say MILLION!!!

So, with that said... what do you think Robosaurus will go for? If money were no object, what would YOU pay for it? Keep in mind it could make money for you if you were to take it to races and / or fairs (or what ever!).

This program is well worth turning to tomorrow... There will be MANY cars that will go for over $1 million! From what they've previewed, it is going to be an electrifying record crushing night!!!!

Please click on each of the links to find out more!! Thank you!
