That's because she/he isn't on your contact. And I am only guessing, it prevents others (non-contacts) to send you any messages. (But what do I know, right? LOL)
I have one contact who uses them; sometimes I think it isn't such a bad idea!
Oh, I know why I got the captcha... I was pointing out what it says. (as mentioned... this may only make sense to a few.) Sorry. :)
