It's something they are doing every Friday (for the summer!)

Cell phone update...

Ok... this morning I had the "bright idea" that I may have been stiffed on my cell phone... Soon as I woke up enough to make a call, I grabbed my phone & called VZ....

I explained to the lady that I had been given a date of when I would get my Chocolate... & this time I was told only 7 to 10 business days... I, also, informed her that shortly after my hubby had received a confirmation email along with a tracking #... but this time I have not seen anything. (While she had be on hold to look at my account I turned the JunkYard on & searched hubby's email... nope, nothing there!)

She came back & said she found the order but no tracking #... & said she had some case #. She said she was going to put me on a "2 minute hold" while she called Fed-Ex to see if they had a # generated yet.

Well, a couple minutes later I get "Hello, thank you for calling Fed-Ex, how may I help you?" ... I'm like uh... "Hello? Is the Vz lady on here too?" "You're calling Fed-Ex"... I said, I was not really the one calling... but seems I must have been transferred.

I explained to the Fed-Ex agent I was looking for a tracking # for my phone... & so she tried to search for my name & address, but didn't find anything. (Figures!!) "You'll have to call Vz"... "Uh... that's who I had called... I didn't call you!" (Not angrily said... because it wasn't her fault... also, I laughed internally... again... FIGURES!!)

So... I dialed *611 again (Vz customer service) & this nice man Jerome (I think... have it written down in the other room) answered & I explained to him what I was trying to achieve... He asked me a few questions & looked at my account. (Oh... he NEVER put me on hold!!!) And some how we got into talking about how all this started... So, I told him all the way back from how I first went to order the Chocolate & how the guy ordered it on my hubby's phone, instead of mine & how the contract dates for the phones are still messed up &... well, all of it.

This guy was very sympathetic & said... "well, tell you what... I do not see an order... but I do see a case #... but it's for something to do with pix place issue." "Yeah... that was a separate thing I dealt with the other day."

"Well, I do not see an order... so I am going to do this... I am going to ship you out the phone & you will receive it tomorrow sometime by 3:00p.m."

To make a long story short I was on the phone for over of an hour with this guy & he ended up making sure I get the phone at no charge & made sure all the plans & everything stayed the way they should & fixed the dates in their system... this way hubby won't have any problem getting a new phone... when he's ready... HOPEFULLY!!

And he's supposedly given me credit & made very good notes that when I call back to get it activated of the problems before & so on & so on... So, we'll see how it all works out!! :)

I'm remaining guarded but optimistic that this guy has worked it all out!

And I am now can't wait until I get this tomorrow!! Oh, I did receive a tracking # this afternoon! So, now I know it's on it's way!!!!! :) :) :)

Watch out Maegan & PassionWolf... I am going to be a texting you!!! LOL (I just have to remember I have a limit of only 250 messages!!!)

Well, I stopped in at the local Vz store on my way home from the movie (with my son) today (Wednesday) & found out that just as I had thought... the Env2 DOES come with "Get it Now"... however, it's named "media center" for some reason on the Env2...

The rest of it seems to work much like the Chocolate... except the better way to text!!!

I just thought of another thing I wanted to check on that phone... if it has sometime of "locking" to keep the outside keys from being pushed unexpectedly (when put in a pocket or something)... I'll check on that later... BEFORE I call & get it exchanged!! :)

Quick ride...

It's after Midnight & I just realized I hadn't blogged yet about about a new gadget I received today.

Oh, before I do that... I want to update you on $hiba... after a little research, I found out that the keyboard I bought IS compatible with my particular model. So, I reinstalled it & made sure the cable was completely seated & again.... VIOLA!!! It works! I, now have a completely new keyboard with all keys functioning! So, I did not waste $25 after all!! :) Now all I have to do is sell the old one to make a little bit of the money back!! (Along with many other things in my house that has been stacking up waiting for me to put on eBay!)

Anyhoo, arriving today about 1:00p was my brand new LG Chocolate - Black Cherry! I couldn't pass it up... I got it for FREE!!! :) So, I guess you know now why I hadn't blogged until now! LOL

I had liked the idea about the Chocolate ever since I saw one in the Verizon store back in 2006. I thought, what a cool name for a phone! (Side note: this was the day AFTER I got out of the hospital after loosing 10 years of my memory... Walking into that retail store was a bit of a tech shock for me!!) Giving my love for chocolate... I thought, maybe I'll get that some day! LOL... However, I am glad I waited... because the version I have is the new updated version... with a few better features.

I'll post a review after I've had some time to play with it & get used to it... There are a couple minor things I am not liking... but I may just not be doing things right. So we'll see.

Speaking of reviews... if you haven't seen it yet... I posted one about the movie "Michael Clayton" starring George Clooney. (That link should open in a new window / tab.)

Well, I have to pull this train into the station already because I have to go to the farm in the morning to discuss the party plans with my mom. So, I best get some sleep!!!

Cookie Recipe Exchange...

As far as I know, Patricia G on Yahoo 360 started the Cookie Recipe Exchange... I am copying my recipe here for Multiply!

I am going to share with you a recipe that's not really cookies, but is just as delicious! They're called Peanut Butter Squares. This recipe was shared to me by my mom. It was (may still be) the most sought out dessert at our local school. (The picture above are not mine... but they are the same thing!)

Peanut Butter Squares:

1 & 1/2 lbs Powder Sugar (to cut recipe in 1/2 would be 5 & 1/4 cups... 1/4 is 2 & 1/2 cups)
3 cups Peanut Butter (to cut recipe in 1/2 would be 1 & 1/2 cups... 1/4 is 3/4 cups)
2 sticks (1 cup) butter or margarine (to cut recipe in 1/2 would be 1/2 cup (1 stick)... 1/4 is 1/4 cup (1/2 stick)
1 cup brown sugar (to cut recipe in 1/2 would be 1/2 cup... 1/4 is 1/4 cup)

Mix all together & press into 9x13 or deep cookie sheet. Chill, until a little firm to, top with...

Chocolate Frosting:
2 lbs Powder Sugar
1 cup cocoa
1 stick butter.

Mix until right consistency to spread.
If too dry... dribble little milk to make it smoother. (Careful not to put too much in, because then it gets too thin!) Dribble little in at a time. Mixing in between until you get it the way you want it.

Then once frosted cover with plastic wrap & chill until firm. (If you can wait! LOL) (To shorten the time put in freezer for about 1/2 hour... just remember not to leave them there.)
Then cut to suit & enjoy :)
I like to store them in the fridge to keep them firm. Also, after cutting store in a air tight container, so they won't dry out.

(I have a note on my card this frosting recipe makes more than needed. But it depends on how thick you want to frost the squares. You can always put the extra in a sealed container & put in the fridge for later. Or use it on cupcakes or brownies, or what ever.)

Ok, it has nothing to do with the fact it supposed to be the luckiest day ever... (7-7-7)

I found out from Maegan's blog, that today is CHOCOLATE Day!!!
Since I'm a chocolate fanatic... this is the perfect day for me... Alright, I'm not that bad!

I wasn't going to change my background until tomorrow or Monday, because tonight we're having our 4th of the July celebration at the farm.

I've changed my mind... because when I went to "Good Search" to search for chocolate images to go with this blog... JACKPOT!! (No pun intended... but, hey... it works!! LOL)
I found all kinds of cool images! Many of them I can use for backgrounds. All I have to do now is..... choose one! This will be a hard decision!

My favorite day of the year... 7-7-07 part DUEX...

The quote I've had in my blast for the past week or so, is actually a title of a book. So, I thought I'd add more to the prior blog... but then realized it was too long... I decided to enter a Part 2 blog! Lucky You!

Anyway, when looking for a possible link to this book, I came across another good site. This is for those who want to SHOP for something chocolate. (Maybe send to your favorite Lady Harley rider?? ) (Oh, I'm just full of it today, aren't I?)

I found, Karen Scalf Linamen has other chocolate books available. If I had the $$ I'd be getting them!

(updated).... Cookies (said like the Cookie Monster!)... 6-30-07

In honor of the Blue Moon, I decided to follow in Maegan's footsteps & make some cookies.
But instead of Blue Moon cookies, (recipe on her site) I have to call them Full Moon cookies...

because I have no blue food coloring & I used chocolate cake mix instead of white.
(YEA for me! I got a picture within the body of the post!!)



The ice cream scoop next to them is what I use for all my cookies... especially chocolate chip cookies! Just make is so much easier & uniform.

The 1st batch just came out of the oven & are on the cooling rack waiting to be frosted with ... you guessed it, chocolate frosting!


(Can you tell, I'm a chocolate nut!)
I put the 2nd batch into the oven & grabbed one of the unfrosted ones... just to see how they are, because I've never had them before.
& Just like they smell & thought, they're... SCRUMPTIOUS!! They'll be even better with the frosting! :)

Oh, do you need a good laugh? Then check out Barb & Tom's blog entitled Moo. Someone has a LOT of talent with the editing! They even got the cow's shadow on the water!! The song just fits the pictures :)
